I've been known to make this bakery my last stop in DF before returning home to San Miguel de Allende. Stocking up on excellent breads and very fine pastries. The pain aux chocolate and pain aux raisins are excellent but the pastel de nata is superb. This little cream tart's flaky crust and unctuous filling is alone worth the trip.

I'm very picky when it comes to bread, and this bakery passed the test.
Their ciabatta bread is the best.
Good croissants and chocolate chips cookies. A little pricey.

Da Silva bakes wonderful breads everyday. Their European style selection includes french artisan baguette, brioche, croissants and rye loaves. They also have German, Spanish and Portuguese special loaves, as well as a good selection of pastries. A great morning stop!

Is this the most affordable bakery in Mexico City? No, no way! But it never intended to be. However it must be in the top 3, and I say that because I don't know other two as good, but in such a huge city, there must be more. This one is on top, no doubt about it. Their maccarrons are sublime, their "orejas" and raisin bread are outstanding, ad so is their onion and french bread. Try them you wont regret it.

By far the best place to buy bread in Mexico City. Everything we have tried is delicious. You can also buy frozen dought which you can bake at home for the fresh bread smell in your home. There are several locations throughout the city. They also have beautiful chocolate Easter eggs, in season. You can have bread sliced. Da Silvia is a small shop, do not plan on staying here but most shops are in nice locations so you can buy your bread and get a cup of coffee near by.
