my friend and i stopped by to grab coffee, and i was pretty impressed by their offer of pastry and desserts and even though i´m not that much into sweets and cakes, i had try some of them (crocante de avellana) and it was absolutely incredible, not too sweet, real strong flavors of ingredients, perfect texture. oh and cappuccino was really good too.

regretfully that was my last day in mexico city, but if i lived there i´d go there at least once a week to try out everything they have.

would recommend and i´ll definitely go back if i return to mexico city!

You cant walk down the street and ignore the amazing smell of baked goods all over. They have everything from baguettes to tarts and croissants. They also have a little cafe and breakfast is pretty good. I had to wait like 15 mins for a table as it is a very popular place.

Shut your eyes and be transported to a street in Paris.....well, at least from the inside of La Bohème. Next door is the noisy, crowded and uber-chic Mercado Roma but here it's a French cafe and patisserie. First of all you are treated to samples of a croissant drizzled with dulche de leche by a server in the street and are encouraged to order a whole one for yourself along with a cafe au lait and perhaps an egg dish. My omelette with ham was thin and not very generous or interesting. The accompanying refried beans had little flavor and the four small slices of toasted baguette seemed like an afterthought. The whole dish felt kind of neglected. My friend's eggs in a casserole with broiled cheese on top was a better choice and he did everything but lick the dish. It came along with three tiny strips of baguette, each with a different topping: fig and caramelized onions, a tomato remoulade and a yogurt and cucumber raitta-like sauce. Coffee was delicious and could have been ordered in more than a dozen different variations. You'll want to take home some of the patisserie products too; breads and pastries reminiscent of France.

If you want something better than Mercado Roma, without the thousands of families, try this place next door. Great coffee, great bread, great desserts.

The selection of fresh breads, pastries, and cakes is amazing. The bread is made with fresh butter, you can really tell the pastry chef studied in the Old World……. The almond croissant was divine, also the lemon tart. You have to try the dulce de leche mille fleuille……. sit down for a pastry and coffee, wonderful for a morning walk or a late sunday afternoon.
