I almost didn't write a review as I think everyone shares my sentiments and have written reviews which encapsulates my thoughts. However one more can't help.

I was absolutely gutted that we only had two nights here. The rooms round the courtyard are simply lovely and it was great to sit out there in the evening. The comfortable living room which is for use of guests has beautiful art, a massive apple Mac, Bose speakers playing relaxed tunes and best yet, the staff crack open the wine encouraging people to get to know each other. Above all though is the staff. They couldn't have been more welcoming, chatting away as soon as we walked in the door making us feel like we were old friends. Nothing was too much bother and they really looked after us. Perfect.

We just returned from 5 days at the Red Tree. My wife and I have traveled extensively on 5 continents, having stayed in everything from 5 star hotels to bedouin tents to Japanese ryokan. All of those experiences were fabulous, but none of them had the warmth and charm of the Red Tree. Located in the Condesa neighborhood, the inn is surrounded by restaurants, cafes, beautiful parks and tree-lined streets. The rooms are mostly centered around a central courtyard beautifully planted and colorful. This serves as a breakfast area and general congregating place. The rooms are artistically decorated and immaculately clean. Breakfasts are plentiful, with a hot plate every day that reflects local cuisine.

However, what makes the Red Tree special is people - both the staff, owners and guests. The intimacy and interior design/decoration encourages meeting and sharing with the other guests. To add to that atmosphere is having a staff that will break out the wine glasses and wine to get things going.

The staff/owners are amazing human beings. They go beyond the "cordial" to being helpful at every moment, literally doing anything that will make your stay enjoyable. In fact, they become such good friends with guests that you find many former guests that have moved to more permanent housing returning to just "hangout" (this also happens with the staff on their off hours) Lastly is Avril the inn dog. She is everyone's best friend at breakfast. We took her for a long walk each morning in the park, which made us feel part of the community. Having Avril around is the final touch to make this "inn" a home away from home.

You have to be nuts not to stay here. Like many others we will surely return for another stay.

Loved the Red Tree House. It was friendly, relaxing and secure. I felt that if I ran into a problem in the city, I had only to call the staff at the Red Tree House and they would have helped me out. Visited Mexico City in July and loved it. The weather was perfect and security all over the city made me feel safe. Tourists seemed to get preferential treatment in government attractions (e.g. museums). I would recommend the Red Tree House. Its location was quiet, clean and had lots of restaurant options. It was only a short cab ride to tourist attractions. I plan to return to the Red Tree House.

Room Tip: The web site is very good at describing the variety of rooms. I had a garden room. It was small but...

This B&B is very good, the staff is very kind, the breakfast is delicious, you have bread, croisants, cereals, coffee and every day a different mexican dish.
The garden is nice, full of plants and trees...
BUT ... AVOID CULIACAN bedroom, it is at the front of the property, in a second floor, very pretty, super confortable bed, nice colonial bathroom, but is NOISY... Every time a guest arrive to the hotel, late at night you can hear them, the cars from the street too... I really had problems for sleeping.
The rest of the bedrooms are at the back of the property and i guess they are quiet so... I recomend you pto stay here only avoid Culiacán Room

The perfect place for visiting Mexico City. Victor and Ernesto together with the team of ladies gave us everything we needed in terms of hospitality, information and comfort, generously ladled with wine, and fantastic Mexican breakfasts! We look forward to future visits to the RTH!

Our many hosts are incredibly friendly, helpful, informed and smart fun guys. The location is great--would be a great place to live long term! Great restaurants, parks, interesting houses in the neighborhood; felt completely safe. The RTH itself is gorgeous, the spaces wonderful, the breakfast delicious, and there was a happy hour with complimentary wine every night. We met a couple of other interesting guests. Easy to understand why RTH is currently # 1. Would be very happy to return here.
