Many Asian restaurants in Mexico are buffet style. This was a welcome change from that. Pleased that vegan options suggested and accommodated. Flavours were great. Service was friendly and helpful.

After months of enjoying wonderful Oaxacan food, we were in the mood for a change of cuisine and setting. We had eaten at Ni Hao many years ago, in a different location. The new location is very central and the space is pleasant. The waiter was attentive, checking frequently checking that we lacked nothing. Is it high quality Chinese food? Well, it's the best we've found in El Centro.
For 85 pesos, we had an agua, soup, rice or pasta, desert and a choice of several plato fuertes, including the two chicken dishes we selected: one was a version of sweet and sour chicken , with a light and crispy breading, and the other was chicken with peanuts, green peppers and carrots. The chicken in both dishes was very tender and flavorful, with tasty sauces.
Also on offer was a shrimp cocktail, chop suey with shrimp, and salmon sushi. The soup was a semi- traditional egg drop. We enjoyed the chilled and thick agua de guanabana, a plate of crispy noodles with 3 dipping sauces, and the flan desert.
The only down side was poor ventilation, although the waiter turned on two ceiling fans. The chiles cooking in the rear kitchen wafted through the air and produced some coughing, but it didn't last long. That said, the food was very fresh and came to the table hot, in a large serving bowl, with a side bowl of white rice. The serving was large enough that I needed to take out what I couldn't finish.
We' ll definitely go back when we need another Chinese taste. The regular menu also includes some Thai dishes, a firepot of sorts, and some pot stickers, none of which we tried on this visit.

There are only a handful of restaurants that offer Asian Cuisine in Oaxaca, out of all those restaurants, NI-HAO is by far the only restaurant that offers a variety of gourmet asian food with a unique taste. The owner is opened to suggestions and is in the heart of Oaxaca, en el centro.

You can´t have an Asian Bistro without kimchi! Aside from that, there were not any veggie items really and the owner/waitress didn´t really seem to speak English or Spanish so I don´t know how she could communicate about her menu to anybody at all.
