We just came back from a week in Club Med Cancùn with our 3 teenage children. Every one of us had the best time possible, sport wise, comfort wise, food wise, service wise. The team working there was kind, fun, and efficient. And it's not only our family ; I did not hear anyone in the whole club complaining about anything. We will try to go back as soon as we can.

This is a great trip for families with teenagers. They NEVER get bored. Club Med has the best beach in Cancun. It is still my kids favorite vacation spot!

Those professional pictures say it all... Club Med Cancun is paradise.

There were so many activities, great kid's clubs, friendly GO's, a bit less walking than the Club Med Punta Cana since everything was quite centralized, and a great beach which you could walk along and out of the resort up the Cancun peninsula to other hotels and resort... Not that you wanted to since Club Med takes much better care of their beach than anyone else. And I say all this after visiting the Club Meds in Turks and Caicos, Punta Cana, and Sandpiper before. This was our second trip to Club Med Cancun. Due to no fault of Club Med, we visited the year before during Easter 2010 when 4 out of the 7 days we were there, we were rained out. There was not the usual 2-3 hour flash flood rains, but it actually rained nonstop so many of the outdoor activities, snorkeling, sailing, tennis and waterskiing were cancelled. So we were there again in early June 2011 for a redo... And this time we had only 1/2 day of rain... It was great!

My kids loved the kid's clubs and participated in the activities and fun shows. And even my 12 year old, very shy and reserved joined in every activity, made some great friends and participated in the Car Wash teen program. My daughter also had fun, but unfortunately in early June, there were less younger kids and so she participated less in the activities. The year before in Easter of 2010, she had tons of friends and participated full that time.

And the great thing about this particular Club Med is that there are actual outside excursions that are worthwhile going to especially with Chitchen Itza, swimming with the dolphins and Eco Coba/Cenotes.

We swam with the dolphins, rode bikes through Eco Coba and swam in the Cenotes. The dolphin swim was a bit commercial and many pictures were taken solely to sell videos and pictures at the end. But the experience of being up close with the dolphins was still a treat. I might go for the all day training session to get a more immersive experience although it is more costly and time consuming.

But without hesitation, I highly recommend taking the English speaking Eco Coba/Cenote excursion tour with Anya, our amazingly informative and entertaining tour guide . She had such a passion for the history of the region as well a doing her best to impart her great wealth of knowledge of the culture of the people to us. She was a truly amazing guide and we all got caught up in her enthusiasm. And I heard that Eco Coba was much more pleasant to visit being that it was within a forest with the tour partially in the shade where as Chichen Itza, while more well known and on the Unesco World Heritage site, is extremely exposed and hot. The Cenote, underground cave systems, was refreshing although during early June made it ripe for ravenous mosquitos (biodegradable repellent was the only option being that they are keeping the underwater pools unpolluted but helped a tiny bit). Otherwise this was an amazing tour.

I highly recommend Club Med Cancun Yucatan, not only for the amazing Club Med activities which are incredibly well run, food which is always every changing and fabulous, and shows which are fun to watch, but for the amazing outside excursions which are offered.

Room Tip: The ones close, but not too close to the main area are nice. We preferred Opalo (Sp?) and Granite be...

We've traveled to Club Med Cancun 5 years in a row & have not been disappointed! There is never a dull moment there - keeping busy and having fun at the same time. The food is wonderful, staff exceeds your expectations, and the kids all had the time of their life.

My family members are long time Club Med vacationers . My parents took us in France back in 1978 for the first time. As an adult and since then living in the States, I have experienced stays at Paradise Island, Guadeloupe, Pukhet in 2010 and then Sandpiper in 2002 and again just last week. Last summer, I took my 2 daughters 14 and 20 to Cancun,
We stayed in the Jade biulding and loved it! This was the third week of August, we had plenty of privacy if we wanted to be on the Beach or at the pool and plenty of great activities to chose from.
Our Beach boy Eddy was fantastic and very helpful providing service with a smile and endless enthusiasm.
I know enough not to expect the same type of ambiance that I so loved when I was in my teen's in France or Italy. Gone are the pushy GO's dragging to participate to activities or the incessant games and comedy shows. It is now more subdued and although extremely nice, I found the Go's less engaging and more discreet. The core concept is still there: to build a happy cheery environment while providing great activities, sports and social gatherings. For this, Club Med Cancun did not disappoint. My 14 year old shied away from the Junior Club (Car Wash) simply because she was intimidated by the majority of French speaking teens but otherwise enjoyed her stay after meeting several American girls of her age. This resort is definitely favored by French people all year round . The food was very good, variety was there. I found the restaurant very open and nicely decorated with small and large tables to share to incite fraternization with other Gm's(this does not happen in Sandpiper). The Shows were ok and when you know how much rehearsal and preparation goes into them from Go's who originally are not performers, you definitely appreciate the efforts.
The surroundings are absolutely astonishing. Possibly the best looking resort I have ever been to .
We chose this type of vacation for the activities, the environment and the ambiance. We know that the Club Med 5 Trident luxury is definitely not the Ritz Carlton but the value is still there and the amenities more than comfortable.
Great for kids, family and also for singles. I would definitely recommend.

To put this review in perspective we have had previous vacations at Club Med Ixtapa and last year went to Beaches Negril, Jamaica for our family holiday. Our two kids are 10 and 12. Traveled with another family of 5; kids age 5 to 12.

Exceeded expectations:
- Food: Outstanding with lots of choice. Kudos to the chefs! Didn't think it could get better than Ixtapa
- Teen/pre-teen club: Fully enjoyed. I was amazed at how many 14-16 yr olds I saw in the older group and they looked like there were having an amazing time. Kids enjoyed the Car Wash. We hadn't been to a resort before where I'd seen so many teens in the "kids club".
- Site: Club Med has the best site "on the strip" with two beaches (choose your side depending on the wind direction) and the amazing snorkeling area
- Snorkeling: Being able to snorkel as much as you wish because the reef was immediately beside the property was amazing. At the far end of the property you could see where are the snorkeling outfitters were bringing people to the reef to snorkel and we could access it all day (was closed for lunch)
- Excursion: We did the Coba/Cenote excursion and, although it was very pricey, we had such as informed guide who worked with the families and tailored to the all ages crew. Our lunch was wonderful and a relief to be at a such a safe, clean and relaxing place. Tip: She informed us to check if you go zip-lining, not all outfitters in Cancun have two lines and may be a safety risk
- Beach: Best on the Cancun strip by far with the most calm water because of the outcropping. Hard to compare to the beach in Negril, which is one of the best in the world. Tip: Negril is such a shallow beach, it extends far before it gets deep and is great for young families.
- Circus: One of the best things about Club Med. Great job at this site.
- Iguanas - What 10 year old doesn't enjoy going on a daily walk to see how many you can see (our highest count was 40!)? Tip: They are mostly on the walk to the Jade building
- Gym: very nice and cool.

Met expectations:
- Pool - Large enough and the guards were watching out for the kids safety
- Rooms - Nice to have two adjoining rooms; hence two bathrooms, one for the kids and one for us. We were in the Amatista building with a lagoon view and it was fine. Our window faced the night club and you couldn't sleep with the windows open (though it was so humid, I preferred the air conditioning).
Tip: We really did see the crocodile in the lagoon at sunset off our balcony and it appeared to be 6-7 feet long to me. No kidding.
-Staff: Were as kind and friendly as our previous experiences with Club Med. Kudos.
-Space: plenty of space to find a place you liked; pool, beaches, patios

Expectations not met:
- We weren't informed at check-in that the resort is on "Club Med time" and were an hour off for almost a day. Really, they don't change to local daylight savings time. It works out you enjoy more daylight.
- Took a long time to get our transportation, which was arranged with Club Med, from the airport to the hotel. We waited outside the airport with the Club Med staff for the van. I know this is relative but we were standing for 20 minutes waiting after a very long time through customs and immigration. The ride was very short to the hotel; a nice relief. To their credit it was a busy Saturday.
- Didn't explore all kinds of liquor at the bar but the gin was substandard. Some brands like Gordon's or Beefeater aren't premium and could be added to the the list.
- The baristas in the bar could use a little more training in making the specialty coffees; tamping the grind is key and wipe off the steamer between each batch of milk. Beans were very good.

Highly recommend this resort to any family. So many wonderful activities available to burn off the great food in the restaurants.

Tip: Didn't experience seeing the drunk adults like we did at Beaches.

This was our 5th Club Med vacation in the past 10 years. All of them have involved our extended family - sometimes ranging in age from 9 months to 94 years. We had an adults-only reunion at Turks, and 3 visits to Ixtapa with the grandchildren. This time we chose Cancun for our 2-week siblings/spouses reunion. My husband and I were last here in 1993, with our teenage son. That was 2 renovations ago.

The site remains spectacular! The GOs are attentive and knowledgeable in their roles. The GEs work hard to keep the resort clean and safe. The activities are enticing and well-run (yay for waterskiing!) Entertainment provides something for everyone. The food is varied and wonderful.

Aside from little picky things that can be found wherever you are and if you look hard enough, Club Med Cancun gets full marks from us. Our only disappointment was the weather, and we knew that going in. Next time we will book Cancun in March.

Thank you Eduardo and Team!
