This is in my opinion the best beach in Cancun. I always stay at President for the beach and the impeccable service at the beach bar. The rooms are simple and clean and the beds are extremely comfortable.

We had a couple of extra days before our longer stay inn Cancun area to an all inclusive hotel, I'm an IHG Spire Elite member and decided to use points and stayed at the Presidente Intercontinental on First week of July,
The hotel is an old building probably 25+ years located on a pristine beach location and this was the reason we wanted to visit the hotel, we thought will spend a couple of days at the calm turquoise beach but unfortunately the water was murky and beach wasn't good the time our visit due to recent rainfall and sargazo that is nothing related to the Hotel managment.

We arrived to hotel after 9PM and the check inn took 45 mins basically waiting for the two hotel members that were doing the check inn process and the time they spend that wasn't fast, hotel doesn't have a fast check inn for IHG members and/or they dint even recognize you as an IHG until the end of the process when I asked the clerk and said that 's why I was upgraded to Ocean view room

Room was nice but small for my opinion and specially for the type of the hotel they claim to be. it has a small refrigerator where you can keep some of the drinks, specially water due there are way overpriced at the hotel ($8-10USD), there is a convivence store not far away where you can buy the water or anything else you wan to bring to the hotel.

Hotel has two pools and large pool one of the days wasn't that clean, Also noticed that hotel allow guest to bring dogs which I'm not opposed but is something you don't typically see in Cancun area hotel, this party had a small dog that was nervous all the time and was barking every time that someone was passing by near them.

Overall our stay was average, service had ups and downs , Definitely this isn't a hotel I will pay the rate for what they offer and my opinion this Intercontinental is not at same level of the Intercontinental hotels in some other parts of the world

We normally pick this hotel when we come to Cancun, it has been our first choice for several years, not anymore. The check-in and check-out procees took more than expected, the room was old, the pool was not very clean; it is clear that the staff is not enough for the capacity of the hotel. The beach is not clean about the sargazo , which we understand this phenomenon is having a big impact in the whole peninsula, but it can be cleaned. We hope this hotel reconsider the quality of service and the maintenance/renewal issues , so it can return to what we have experienced in our previous stayings. Special thanks to Eleazar for a very good service.

Our stay here was simply excellent. Great service, comfy bed, superb views. The drinks were good, and the food at the main restaurant was delicious. I highly recommend the vegetarian burger if you’re living a plant-based life. The pool is nice, with friendly iguanas greeting you as you set up. The beach is lovely; the only downside is that the immediate sea water looks brown because of the seaweed.

We arrived at the hotel at 3pm for a 3pm check in, we were not handed our room keys until 4pm as we waited AN HOUR in the line for check-in. We waited another 30min for them to bring our bags so we could change and go to the beach, until we gave up and went to go fetch our bags ourself. Everyone who works here is very nice, but 2hrs just to get in and the day is gone! Not to mention they left 1 water bottle and 1 robe when there are two of us. Also… the room average and bed uncomfortable. Won’t be staying here again
