“Very Nice Hotel”
Reviewed 6 April 2012

Been here for one week, from March 25 to April 1st. it is very nice hotel. rooms are compfortable and relaxing. the Spa was the best. Gabriela for Breakfast is the best chef in town, she can cook the eggs to ur desire. Always with big smile in her face. she spoke on face time with our relatives in Canada while she was preparing our breakfast.. hahaha.

the only downside, is that the guest service, the timesharers and the Palace vaccation planners do not offer enough info regarding their membership plans,, they just want to sell you the membership.
other than that the hotel is very nice and enjoyable place to be at.

We have just returned from a weeks stay and would comment as follows, we are a family of two adults and two children aged 12 & 14 and reside in the UK. This was our first trip to Mexico but we are very well travelled on a global basis. The location is great right on a fantastic beach with a perfect ocean, clear, blue and warm. The room was great, 9th floor, good size, perfect view. The hotel was at 55% occupancy for the first four days which is where it needed to stay to maintain great service, the last three days were up to 95% occupancy and the hotel was too small for the volume of people. There are three restaurants and a buffet restaurant. The wok and Italian are excellent, the steak house and buffet are poor. There is no where to have a chilled drink outdoors in the evening, big problem so I recommended they move the steak house up stairs and create a cool bar area outside though they will need to do something about the wind. The staff are generally good but some have an attitude especially in the wok restaurant. The pools loose the sun at 16.00 hrs, not good. For the past three days the hotel ran out of towels, no body went out of their way to sort this basic service, poor!. The entertainment needs review. The team work very hard day and night but the schedule lacks quality and excitement, again the wind is an issue. The hotel is well maintained, clean and tidy and service around the pool and on the beach is excellent. We would not return to this hotel given all the above good and bad factors. having to wait for a table in the evening to dine is not acceptable.

We had a dream vacation staying at Beach Palace in Cancun! My husband, myself and our 14 year old daughter. The staff is amazing! We felt pampered and taken care of. Loved the pools- our favorite were the sky pools- almost always had them to ourselves, and more sun later in the day. We had read about using resort points to upgrade the room to oceanside- so we tried to do that upon check -in. They were full, but were told we could see if any availability the next day. SO glad we didn't waste our points on that! We had a lagoon room on the 3rd floor- beautiful, and we we didn't really spend that much time in our room. Beds were comfortable, never heard any neighbors, and always had new water bottles refilled in our fridge (also filled with lots of adult beverages).
We LOVED using the resort points! Total Value add to the whole package! Lucinda was wonderful at helping us at check-in, letting us know how we could use our points. We stayed 9 nights, so we had 2,000 points- here is how we used them-
Chichen Itza Mayan ruins trip- all day trip into the jungle to see Mayan Ruins. Awesome! Air conditioned bus ride, with lunch provided. Amazing history, and great tour guide to explain things.
X-Caret- LOVED this! Kind of like an interactive museum/zoo/aquarium. We snorkeled in the underground river, swam with the sharks, Sea Trek- walked the bottom of the ocean wearing a astronaut type helmet for oxygen- my favorite (we paid extra for the last two activities)! snorkeled in the beautiful lagoon, delicious lunch included. All day event- ended with a 2 hour cultural/history show at the end. The show went a little long for us, as we didn't have the cultural background that natives would have.

Isla Mujeres boat tour/snorkel trip- Very pretty views of the amazing blue water. Snorkel was great along coral reef. If you wear glasses- I highly recommend buying a prescription mask before you come- no one had them available on any of our snorkel trips even though we were told by three different people that they had them available (in Hawaii they did). I ended up staying on the boat while my family snorkeled. Lunch also provided on the island.
Wet N WIld water park and Dolphin swim- VERY FUN! We loved the water park- again food and drinks provided, and dolphin swim was part of our points. I had read several negative reviews about Dolphin swims with various parks in Cancun. This one was Awesome! Beautiful, clean, felt like the dolphins were loved and cared for. Pictures a little expensive. An amazing experience!
Submarine/snorkel trip- Underwater tour of the coral reef was OK. kind of cramped and didn't see much. Cool for the first 15 minutes, but then went long- my favorite was the snorkeling! I had purchased prescription mask at the gift shop here- and was so glad to snorkel along the coral reef! Beautiful! LOVED IT!
Romantic steak/Lobster on the beach dinner- fun and beautiful view!
Also included in our points- manicure and pedicure and Full body couples massage at Beach Palace- loved it- first massage for both my husband and I!
You can see the value of the points! We did all of these things using our points! AND the staff scheduled everything for us- including transportation- just gave a a print out telling us when to be in the lobby and what to bring! Your own travel agent!
Public bus is very easy to use and inexpensive- was fun for just moving about city on our off days!
Food at restaurants was awesome! Variety for everyone at breakfast (Gabriella's omelets!)and lunch- with amazing staff for your every whim! Dinners at the Asian, Italian and outdoor Steak/Grill were incredible! Would have been over $100 every night if we would have had the same meals at home. Was fun to dress up for these- long pants and collared shirts required for men.
Would HIGHLY recommend Beach Palace resort! Better than a cruise! Everything provided for you!

I got married here in June 2011 and am a little late in doing a review, but since I am now planning a new trip, thought I'd leave one for here. The Palace resorts are top notch, much better than my experience with the Excellence resort we stayed at years ago-- Excellence Playa Mujeres. The check in was an absolute NIGHTMARE and took over an hour... I couldnt believe it. We stood in line for about 45 mins, then 15-20 to check in. By the time I was done, I was so flipping annoyed. We had several others (total of about 20 people) checking in also and they were all also annoyed with how long it took. However, as soon as we were checked in, we were fine and forgot about how annoyed we were.

The resort is wonderfully small, but still feels big enough. It was a great place for a wedding b/c we always were able to find out people quickly. The sky wedding terrace is where we got married and I honestly must say that it is the most beautiful wedding location I have ever seen. It was perfect, magical, wonderful. Our wedding planner wasnt the best, but she did OK.

The beach is fabulous-- clean, big beautiful waves. The pools are also decent, but nothing compared to some of the other sister Palace resorts we visited like Cancun Palace. However, this is a good place for a small group of friends to go. The food was really the worst of all the other Palace resorts we tried most of it was average to below avg -- Sun Palace, Cancun Palace and le Blanc (we went there for our honeymoon after the ceremony). Obviously LeBlanc was the best, but Cancun Palace was probably 2nd. All in all, we really enjoyed our time there and found the beach made up for the lacking areas (food) for us-- but we didnt eat exclusively here. It was great for the family vibe also. All the staff was very friendly and accomodating--- I had much worse service @ EPM, even though EPM is probably a higher rated hotel.

It is a little sedate in terms of nightlife, but we basically brought the party with us, but it would have been nice to see some other mid 30s' - 40s groups to hang around with. My 18 yo nephew had the time of his life--there were big groups of 20-somethings he hung out with.

I would rate this hotel/experience a 7 out of 10.

We spent an amazing week at the Beach Palace in Cancun. The staff members were excellent, going out of their way to make sure we were having a good time. They were wonderful with our kids. The pool is very nice, and the beach is literally steps away from the pool. I was able to get to the pool by 9:00 every morning and swim laps - the pool is long enough for it and it was never too crowded. There are lots of activities for adults and kids at the pool/beach area - water polo games, beach and pool volleyball, water aerobics, beach soccer, dance lessons, trivia questions, and hands on poolside culinary activities such as ceviche-making and bartending lessons. The food was a solid "good", but I don't know how you'd do better then "good" at an all inclusive that has to serve so many people over such long stretches of time. Warning: Some of the restaurants require long pants (khakis are fine) and collared shirts for the men.

Even over spring break, we never had issues with partying/noise interfering with our family's relaxation or sleep.

We were amazed at how clean the entire resort was. I absolutely recommend the Beach Palace.

Room Tip: We had a "Family Deluxe Room", which is 2 adjoining rooms with one set up for kids. It wa...

Overall, everything was great from check-in to checkout. Extremely friendly staff. Long pants needed for the Italian restaurant. There was a slight smell of sewage emanating from the northwest corner of the pool area. I believe it was due to the construction in the building next to the hotel. It was enough to be annoying. Any other location around the pool seemed to be free from the smell. Change dollars to pesos here in the states, else the best exchange rate typically is at the hotel. If you go out in town for anything, pay in pesos. If you pay in dollars, the locals love to short change you in pesos. I'd been shorted a few times with change received in pesos. There were kids of all ages at this resort, but it wasn't a bother at all. Make sure you book your transportation from the airport to the hotel a few days before you get there. Send email tp 'transfercancun@palaceresorts.com'. Include your arrival date and time, flight number, resort reservation number, membership number and number in your party.

Room Tip: Facing ocean is best, corner rooms give you a slightly larger balcony.
