Myself and my Husband did the Whale Shark encounter in Cancun about a week ago. The experience was a once in a lifetime and a must do if you're ever in Cancun. The trip from start to finish was very well organised and absolutely fantastic.

We were collected from our Hotel in Playa Del Carmen at 6:45am. It then took us about an hour to arrive in Cancun. Once we arrived we had breakfast. This included mainly croissants and little cakes, tea, coffee and ginger tea. Whilst we were there we had the chance to get changed into our swim wear, apply sun cream which is free of charge to use as it has to be organic, do not apply your own sun cream. You could also give a $10 deposit or 200 Pesos for anti sickness pressure bands.

If you are worried about feeling sea sick they also give you an anti sickness pill and recommend you to drink ginger tea. I took every action possible and it worked, I did feel slightly sick whilst waiting to do our jumps, but the staff on the boat are absolutely fantastic and help take your mind off this. We had Marc and Sebastian on board and they were just brilliant.

The boat trip itself was fast and fun and on the way we had Dolphin's jumping along side our boat. We were very lucky and they found the sharks within an hour. Once there it looked very busy, but all the boats work together so that everybody has a go. On our first jump unfortunately we didn't see anything, once we climbed out they let us go again straight away and it was just unbelievable. If they offer to hold your hand in the water please accept it as they will pull you into the best position to swim along side the shark.

We did about 5 jumps all together and each one was absolutely fantastic, being able to swim along side the Whale Sharks for about 5 minutes each time. Whilst in the water we also saw Manta Rays who were getting involved in the action.

After we had all done our jumps and the Whale Sharks started to dive down we headed back to an island with a private beach. On the way we had about 4 Dolphins swimming under the boat and jumping in front, it was absolutely fantastic. We also saw a large barrel, they turned the boat straight around and got it out of the water, I thought this was brilliant.

Once we arrived at the beach, the water was crystal clear, we all jumped off and had dinner and some beer. This was absolutely fantastic and so relaxing and gave us lots of picture opportunities.

The entire day was an absolute must, please do not be put off by feeling sea sick. I'm so glad I did not let this put me off. It's just a once in a lifetime and I would definitely go with this company again.
