We visited this hotel 6 years ago, we were very impressed then so we were very sceptical returning this year with new owners... we were little disappointed upon arrival to find the upgraded room we paid for was far from luxury, smelt of mould & water was coming in the patio door & the mexican restaurant was closed for refit & we didnt eat there last time as we thought you had to pay extra so were looking forward to it this year ... then the bad weather hit which cant be helped but then it closed a second restaurant so choice was becoming a little limited... the food was better this visit. the staff are so friendly especially Elizabeth in the coffee shop, she made wonderful coffee & knew what we were drinking everyday without asking... with homemade cookies .. yum !! The staff in the shop were horrendous & didnt have a clue what they were doing.. i had a query once & it took all 3 staff members to try to sort when there was other people waiting to be served & i think they gave up & left!!
downside to the resort is the rough sea, with not being confident swimmers we didnt go in so if returning to Cancun i would still stay in the resortMore
