I stayed at Villa Yak Alil in February and it was simply amazing! The house is a mansion in paradise with all the amenities you could possibly. The staff is extremely nice, respectful and always willing to assist you with anything you need. The house provides so many activities (snorkeling, kayaking, volleyball etc) that we hardly wanted to step out of it. I would definitely schedule my next family reunion here.
I stayed at Villa Yak'alil for a week in March, and it was nothing short of incredible! There was everything you would ever hope for on vacation:
* Private shorefront
* Beach volleyball
* Snorkeling in front of the house
* Spacious, clean rooms
* Walking distance to scuba dive shop
* Amazing, reasonably priced chef available for onsite cooking
The house management was also great -- the house was kept clean throughout our stay and they helped us figure out driving/cooking/shopping logistics.
I would stay here again in a heartbeat!
This place is great. The villa is large, beautiful, and well maintained. Volleyball, a private beach, a pool, excellent snorkeling and scuba are just outside. A dive shop with rentals is also a short walk away. The option for in-house food is convenient and the food is delicious. Some chairs on the beach look like a corona commercial; this place is gorgeous. I had a very relaxing week punctuated by beautiful dives.
Great Oceanside Villa for a group stay. Came for a week stay with a group of 12 and had a lot of fun exploring the island and relaxing at the villa. Beautiful beach right out the back door with volleyball, kayaking and snorkeling. Pool is a little small, for doing laps, but was a nice way to cool off.
The housekeeping was amazing, cooking a different delicious meal each night. The rooms varied in there desirability with some with amazing views and others more basic, but even though I was in one of the smaller rooms, everything was clean and accessible.
I stayed at Villa Yak'alil with a group of 12 friends for Spring Break. The villa is so luxurious. The rooms are spacious with amazing ocean view extending into the horizon. You can snorkel right off the well-maintained beach or take the kayaks out further. (We saw two yellow stingrays!) The tile mosaic in the pool is the cutest! The house's air-conditioning is a welcoming change when coming in from the sun. There is enough space and areas for both social activities and undisturbed quiet reading depending on people's preference.
The villa's housekeeper Magaly is absolutely fantastic. Other than keeping the house in pristine condition, she also offers cooking service for a very reasonable price. It's impressive how she kept the variety and quality so high for 10 meals for 12 people. We ate like a king while we were there. Mexican food back home is now forever ruined now that we had authentic Mexican home cooking.
The house is perfect for a big group to vacation together. Tons of room, well laid out, very open. The view of the ocean is great, the outside deck and pool area is perfect for relaxing, everything you'd want from a villa on the beach.
If you like snorkeling you can wade right into the ocean in front of the house and there's plenty to see, it stays shallow for a long time. You can also go down the street to Sky Reef and get some drinks and do more snorkeling there as well.
Dive Palancar is right down the street (walking distance) as well -- they have scuba diving, snorkeling boat trips (we did a sunset snorkeling / booze cruise and it was incredible, piña coladas and giant sea turtles!), etc.
The cook at Villa Yak Alil might be the best part though, she made us lunch and dinner every day and it was amazing every time. We ate so well and it was what we looked forward to most after a day of diving.
Everything was perfect, this is an incredible place to stay and relax.
This has been the most relaxing vacation for me. Sun, sand, great fresh air, local wildlife... amazing food at home or just A short taxi ride away.
