We stayed here for our honeymoon. The hotel is as all Intercontinental hotels are, great. But the one thing that happened that ruined our 1st night was the what I call the sneaky time share guy. As we are checking in, a person whom I thought was the concierge walked over and asked me to come over to his desk when we were done with check in, once at his desk, he slowly but surely started to pitch the great Cozumel time share opportunity. I was very tired from our trip and was in absolutely no mood for a time share pitch.
I am a platinum priority club status person so I know hotels. I basically believe that when you check into an Intercontinental, you should not have to put up with that type of behavior. I will take it on the street from the vendors, but when walk in the door to this type of hotel, you should be able to let your guard down and enjoy.
The rest of the stay was great, good views, great food. They are experiencing construction to the north of the resort, make sure you ask for a room not facing the property to the north, and when the little man approaches at check in, tell him NO GRACIAS.More
