The hotel was 5 star all the way. The room was beautiful and spacious, the restaurants fabulous, and the staff were all very friendly and helpful. We had an oceanfront room with a deck that included lounge chairs, table and a hammock. The open air dining room, Caribeno, had fabulous views and it is right on the water. We rented jet skis and went diving with Scuba Du, all right on the property. We had a great time diving and snorkeling. The pools were great too! We have stayed at many 5 star resorts and this is definitely in the tops... We'll be back!!!

Room Tip: Loved the beachfront room!

We visited for a week starting 3-23. We had an amazing time. The beaches were fantastic and very relaxing. The beach front room was so worth it. From room service breakfast on the patio to the hammock to the outside shower, it was perfect. Nice room, good AC and fairly comfortable bed. A little hard to my liking but still a nice bed with great linens. I walked in one day during cleaning and they literally scrub the floor daily. The food was very good. The quantities are very large so you can easily share lunch or breakfast. Prices were fair although we brought a blow up cooler and went to the market and stocked up on beer and sodas. Went to the spa three times. Great massage very good pressure. Enjoyed the facilities. Used the work out room, only complaint is no elliptical but they had weights, bikes, treadmills, cold water, towels, AC.. It was good. All in all a very nice resort with great service.

This place is incredible! The pictures on the website do not do it justice! It is right on the ocean. Although, if you are looking for a typical beach entry to the ocean, you will not find too much of it hear, the shore is very rocky, but they did build a small makeshift one.

Great area for snorkelers right off the beach. I saw a ton of great fish and animals that rivaled my scuba experience.

Restaurant is pricey but good, servers are very helpful. We got the all inclusive alcoholic drinks, which was great. We could pretty much drink whatever we wanted from 11 am - 11 pm, worth it!

Town is but a short cab ride away. I would not recommend you walk it. But there really is no need to go into town.

Plenty of activities such as scuba, sightseeing, etc can be organized through the hotel, making it very easy.

Room was incredible. We had a room right on the beach, on the ground floor, so we opened our glass door and we were on the beach! Big room, big bathroom, and an outdoor shower! Not an outdoor shower on the beach side to rinse off, but in the back so you can take an actual shower and no one can see you! Def the highlight of the trip!

Would highly recommend and go back in a second!

Stayed 4 nights for our 25th. Flew into Cancun, stayed 1 night in Playa then took ferry over to cozumel. Grabbed our car from Avis and headed to check in. This is not a party hotel, its well layed out along the ocean and far enough away from down town to be peaceful, but close enough to see all the great offereings of the island. We snorkled steps away from our room, lounged in the hammock on our patio. Lots of Iguanas running around. Recommend you get a room on or facing the water. Gym was small, but never crowded, bottled water in the fridge. We used the tennis courts, they were ok, typical Mexico resort courts made of fake grass........... not real good courts, but fine after a few drinks (:. Hotel is right next to a small fishing marina and also there are plenty of dive boats. You could swim to the marina if you wanted to, sneak through the boarding bushes......... or take the road around to it. We did not eat at the resort because our goal was to eat at the top 10 found in TA. Eating around town was the best part of our trip, just a blast enjoying the local food and people.

My family and I had a fabulous time during a very brief visit to the Presidente Intercontinental Cozumel. We had a room that we could walk right out onto a lovely, quiet and serene beach. The pool area is also very relaxing and looks out onto the beach as well. They have children's activities out by the pool and they also have an iguana hut that the children quite enjoyed. Overall, the food, staff and service was excellent and we are sure to return.

We love Cozumel and especially the diving! We always stay at the Presidente hotel (been going since 2001). It's an excellent property, extremely well run, with excellent food (casual dining under a giant palapa, or more formal dining in the excellent Italian restaurant. The setting is gorgeous, with white sandy beaches and roped off areas of the sea for swimmers, snorkelers or scuba diving training.

The hotel is about 15 mins from the town center, which is ideal (the town gets crazy with multiple cruise ships pulling in most days).

Room Tip: There are two swimming pools, one of them adult only. If you don't have kids and prefer a quiet...

We are not all-inclusive travellers. I am a self-proclaimed cheapskate who looks for value in all that I do and my wife is a saint for putting up with me. That said, we had a very nice stay for the week. First a bit about the resort location. We wanted to be away from the cruise piers as we didn't want the hotel property overrun by cruise guests every day as some hotels are. The Presidente was perfect. The hotel is gated and cruise ship tourists are not allowed in. We were in Cozumel over our spring break but the hotel never felt busy (i.e. we never struggled to get beach chairs or a table at breakfast).

The down side of the location, however, is that you are about 3.5 miles from town. We like to explore the regions we travel by foot, poking around in local restaurants and straying off the beaten path. There are no restaurants or stores within walking distance to the Presidente save one (Moneybar -- a fifteen minute walk south). In fact, there is no sidewalk to the south of the property so walking at night is not recommended because of car traffic. Taxis are very easy to get at the hotel and cost $90 pesos (US$7.50) into town. If you don't have pesos, you are charged US$10. Very easy to find taxis to return as well but it is $16 round trip. There are two fairly-upscale dinner options (plus room service) at the property but if you want anything else, it requires a taxi trip to town.

Very comfortable property and friendly service but also more than I usually pay for a hotel/resort. First, there is no reason not to join the Ambassador program as explained in other posts. Your one free night upon joining pays for the program membership and then your room is upgraded for the duration of the stay which is worth up to $200 a night.

We stayed in both the Ocean View and Ocean Front rooms and, contrary to what other reviewers recommend, I would not pay much more for an Ocean Front room. OF was slightly larger and had an enclosed, but outdoor, rain shower. Our OV room was on the first floor and so opened, basically, right onto the beach as well. We were upgraded to OF (from Pool View) because of the Ambassador membership.

I would not recommend buying the breakfast buffett package. The buffett is wonderful and a lot of food but is about $25/person. We ate breakfast there twice (otherwise too much food before our dive mornings) and there were great options off the menu for under $10 which I preferred. I (and my kids) would have had trouble getting my money's worth if I had purchased the breakast package. Also, there is a children's rate for the buffett which wasn't offered as part of the package.

We ate dinner under the big palapa one night and had a nice experience. The service was friendly but a bit distracted and piece meal. Very nice setting but resort prices. I was glad we tried other in-town options for the other nights.

Overall, we had a very nice stay and I am glad we splurged and stayed at the Presidente. It had everything we wanted (pool, beach, diving) and was safe and comfortable for both adults and kids. I gave it four stars (rather than five) because of the cost.

Room Tip: Join the Ambassador program and pay for a pool-view room. You will be upgraded to ocean-view (or po...
