We went with only 3 weeks to plan trip. Options were limited on where we could stay. We stayed here and it was nice. Many things were not working when we checked in, One elevator in our building, numerous fountains and water features in lobbies and pools. By the time we left most were either working or being worked on. The resort is a bit older but pretty well maintained. The reception area is open air, so all the people that complain about it being hot, duh. Now I will say all the complaints about the buffet area being hot are correct. Obviously they have no intention of fixing the AC there. The layout of the resort was okay, pools are good. Beach area is small but adequate to swim and snorkel. I did not mind seeing the cruise ships at all. Especially drinking a vodka and tonic enjoying the fact I was not traveling on the ship. The place is pretty clean and the service we had was good everywhere we went. Don't pay any attention to the people that complain about the shows. If you are going to Cozumel for shows, go to Vegas.I highly recommend going to Punta Sur if you want a great beach experience. Great food, cold beer awesome water and sand(don't bother snorkeling, it's sand) although pricey fun day.

From entering the room the beds were very uncomfortable and rooms small. Our toilet broke twice. Many hotel staff like robots just follow orders like it’s a job and not customer friendly. Rules in main buffet for men to wear sleeves is rediculous while the rule does not apply to women. So in this humid hot weather u gotta run to your room to put on sleeve shirt to eat while on vacation. The pool bars and snack areas close really early. Too early for vacation. Activities and shows on site not emphasized and staff had no idea when asked. So you will miss on site activities and shows which was disappointing. The bar near pools were fun but closed much too early and many people complained. Overall the hotel is just not committed to vacationers. They should realize what people want on vacation. Not treat hotel like it’s a local spot but cater towards vacationers.

We are sorry to learn that our dress code policy bothered you, but is a sanitary recommendation to prevent contamination food with underarm hair, that is why does not apply for women. I like Grand Park Royal. I have stayed here for the last 3 yrs. The staff is friendly & the rooms are comfortable with a mini fridge that is stocked everyday. The Caribbean restaurant is my favorite with a really good salad bar with lots of items. The coconut shrimp dinner is excellent. Emilio Pech, the restaurant manager definitely knows what he is doing, top notch. I also enjoy the sax/flute player they have for entertainment in the evenings in the courtyard area. Aldo (vacation club) is always friendly & helpful. He always says good morning & ask how your day was. I always enjoy staying at this hotel.

Beautiful resort. Spent most of our time in the infinity pool/swim-up bar. Everyone we encountered was extremely friendly and professional. The room was one of the cleanest I’ve ever stayed in. Our only complaints were that other than the short show every night, there was nothing to do at night on the resort. Also, the food was good... not great. We didn’t like that you had to make reservations for one of the three restaurants every day by 2:00, or you were stuck eating the buffet, which again, was ok not great.

My 11th visit to the Grand Park Royal was excellent. The staff (Jose Luis, Clemente as attendants, and Omar at the Caribbean restaurant) were gracious and as always accommodating.
I visit at least once a year (and after next month 3x's this year) and have always found the Grand Park Royal a great place to stay. Location is convenient, Food is always good, and I always enjoy watching the ships come in and go out!
Snorkeling is available in front of the resort and very convenient.
See you in October Grand Park Royal!

Room Tip: Views looking towards the docked ships are my favorite
