Loved this hotel when we first arrived. It's lovely, centrally-located, and affordable. The hotel is kept exceptionally clean and it is well-staffed. The breakfast is delicious. The pool is more like a kiddie pool, but hey, you're next to the ocean.
All seemed well, but once we had our first night, I started to really dislike it. Because it is downtown there was a ton of bar noise and my husband and I couldn't sleep. We had to switch rooms at 1am. Then, of course, they put us in the room that overlooks the breakfast area (most do) and the kitchen noise gets really loud starting at about 6am.
Then, one of the concierge men said that he'd set us up with SCUBA diving. We were tired but really excited. He said that there was none left for the day and that the one we wanted was booked up the next day so he'd found us an alternative. We were impressed until we found out that HE LIED. He went with this other company because they would pay him for bringing us in. Then, on the last day, check-out was slow and the reception accused us of stealing their towels. I told them that they could check our bags, but they said that they'd like to charge us a fee. We ended up being late to the airport because it took 45 minutes to resolve the issue. (Remember: we had to move rooms. The original towels they accused us of stealing was still in first room!) So, if you stay here: BUYER BEWARE!

The facility is extra clean, the staff are all very kind and most speak English.
The beds are the best (better than my bed at home) and the free buffet breakfast served between 7-12noon was surprisingly good(something for everyone).
They have a bar on premise though sometimes you have to ask for the bartender cause he has many other jobs too. His name is Gasper (known as the friendly ghost) and he's a real peach!
Lots of channels on the TV. I'd highly recommend paying the extra for a deluxe ocean view. You won't be disappointed. The deluxe city view is a bit of a stretch.

We were staying at the Blue Angel for a week on a dive package and had decided before we came to Cozumel that we would spend one night in town. After lots of research on Trip Advisor we chose Casa Mexicana and it didn't let us down. It is a lovely elegant hotel right in the centre of town but without the noise you usually get (great double glazing) and it was perfect for exploring the town and enjoying the gentle 'nightlife' that Cozumel has to offer. We stayed in an ocean view room on the very top floor and it was perfect - the balcony was big with comfy chairs, the room was very clean and spacious enough, the air con was quiet and we had a fantasic night's sleep as the bed was extremely comfy. Unfortunately we were woken early by the staff getting breakfast ready because the whole interior is marble and therefore echoed! The tariffs looked expensive but as we had pre-booked from the UK we got a great deal.

Room Tip: Don't let the concierge book anything for you!

Tough not to love a place with so much to offer. Rooms are large and VERY comfortable, with new (firm, not lumpy) pillowtop mattresses, soft bedding, mini fridges, lots of cable channels, AC, and one of the best showers I've used in Cozumel. Breakfast, as stated by others, is indulgent and delicious...and free. The location was about a block further from the "action" than I'd like, but plenty adequate -- that said, expect a fair amount of hawkers in the area (par for the course).

Noise complaints? Not from me. But, read other reviews: don't expect the ocean to lull you to sleep despite the views.

Food nearby: in general, go a little inland to find decent restaurants. There's a fabulous restaurant a block inland (Enoteca, around 5th Ave and 5th/3rd Sur). La Choza was also decent Mexican food.

Great little hotel! We were able to get a great deal on this hotel through expedia.com We stayed here for three nights in March 2011 and had a great experience. First of all the location is great as it is right in the middle of downtown and close walking distance to a lot of shops and restaurants. It is maintained extremely well – has a great clean, fresh, bright feeling, along with a breathtaking view of the ocean.

I was very impressed with the buffet breakfasts every morning. There’s a huge selection including an omelet station; the food definitely goes above and beyond your typical “continental breakfast” items, and there was always a variety of fresh fruit someone was cutting up. We had our ipad with us and were able to utilize the wireless Internet services. They also have a room with three or so computers with internet connection that you can use for free if you’d like.

Best of all, the staff were very professional, friendly and helpful. A special thanks to Samuel and Kary at the front desk who were always available to help us. Samuel got a bag of ice for my husband every evening, as my husband had a slight injury and needed to ice his knee. One night, we even brought him my husband’s broken watch to dispose of because it was jammed and would not stop beeping. We didn’t want to just throw it away in case the beeping might alarm someone. We said he could just throw it out somewhere, but Samuel took out some took out some tools, took it apart, and ended up fixing it! All in all, a great stay with great service.
