“Great Place to Spend the Day in Cozumel”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 August 2013

I read several reviews of this place and decided to try it out during my visit to Cozumel. This is place is fantastic for relaxing and just enjoying the day. It is really close to the Puerta Maya port where the cruise ship docked. The cab fare from there was $8.00. Everything is reasonably priced and the food was delicious. I had the ceviche and some nachos. Both were fresh and very tasty. You can bring your own snorkeling gear or rent from there. There are also some snorkeling boats that leave right from their dock if you want to pay and be taken further out to other reefs. The snorkeling at the Money Bar is fine. I recommend bringing some Cheerios and dropping them into the water. The fish will come from all over to eat and you can see everything because the water is so clear. If you eat and drink at the Money Bar you have full use of the facility which includes change rooms, lockers, and an outdoor shower to rinse off. Overall, I had a great day at the Money Bar and would definitely visit again.

“Great place to spend the day and snorkel”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 11 August 2013

My family had a very nice relaxing day at the money bar. Snorkeling was not the best I have seen and there is a current to fight BUT to be able to hang out on the beach with free beach chairs, changing areas, bathrooms and cheap rentals, I think it was a great value! Snorkeling was still beautiful.

“Great Views - below average food”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 6 August 2013

Took the family to the Money Bar based on these reviews as well as proximity to our condo. No doubt that the views are spectacular, but there are several restaurants, beach clubs that offer the same spectacular views - it is a small island after all.

The food, compared to other meals we had on the island, was very bland - steak and chicken fajitas - weren't even brought out sizzling on a hot platter like you would expect. The kids burgers, although good sized, were also very bland - soaked in water, then fried.

If you enjoy fish, make sure to ask if it is fresh or frozen. Frozen fish was used in their tacos, whereas, other restaurants on the beach we visited used fresh fish (grouper not cod) for the same price.

Lastly, must have been an off night, the service was horrible - again in comparison to other experiences on the island. The meal was served and the server never came back until he cleared one plate and left the others. I had to go to the bar to get the check...and it wasnt busy at all. Ayway, hope this helps.

“Nice views and snorkeling”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 31 July 2013

We had rented a jeep for a day and had it 11am to 11am the next day. We had seen this place on our drive around the island and not to far from the El Coz Resort where we were staying. We got up in the morning before we had to take the jeep back and drove here to snorkel. We have our own snorkel gear, so we didn't have to rent it. But they do have a desk right there by the bar to get snorkel gear. I think this is one of the bar/restraint beach places they have set up for cruise people to go and have a place to hang out and snorkel. The beach was clean and snorkeling was ok. We didn't eat or drink anything, as we were limited on time. We were ok to just put our stuff on one of the beach chairs and snorkel.

“The Money bar”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 July 2013

QWe were introduced to the money bar by a friend of ours that lives in Cozumel, alos was recommended by many of the locals. It is a great place to be at sunset, happy hour prices on drinks- 2 for 1.
On the weekend they have one of the best local bands Fugga that plays there, 70s up to cuurent rock!
Also if you do Tiger Aguilar-Aguilar's boat trips he luses this dock for his trips- so after a day on the sea you can relax here before heading back to your room!
Food is also very good here!
