“Outstanding shrimp ceviche; good enchiladas in green sauce; great value”
Reviewed 12 April 2012

Lunch here is a "must do" while on Isla Mujeres. It may not be much to look at but you can tell by all the locals eating here that it has authentic food at very reasonable prices. In addition to the shrimp ceviche and the enchiladas, the soup is great and the simple fried plantain and rice pudding choices for dessert are great.

“Great food, quaint atmosphere and excellent prices!”
Reviewed 11 April 2012

Poc Chuc has been on my list of places to try on Isla Mujeres. I'm really sorry that I waited to so long because this little place has fantastic food! Simple, straightforward goodness at budget prices. Cute atmosphere too.
We had two orders of delicous tacos, a Sol and a Vodka Rikki (yum!) for a total of $120 pesos. The food takes a little while because everything is made from scratch (including the tortillas) but it is well worth the wait.

“Great Little Place Off Hidalgo”
Reviewed 2 April 2012

Poc Chuc was one of our favourite breakfast places. Eggs Ranchero and Mexican were our preferred choices. Prices are low and the plates are loaded.....
We love supporting smaller, family run restaurants rather than the "big boys" on Hidalgo. Give it a try, you won't be disappointed.

“So good, we can't wait for our next trip just to eat here again!”
Reviewed 31 March 2012

If you think that "fine dining" should mean delicious food and not just a fancy atmosphere, then you have to try Poc Chuc. If you are on a budget - it's even better!

My husband and I both had the chicken tacos and were immediately in love with the food, the waitress, and the entire experience! Two dinners, chips & salsa, 1 mixed drink & 1 beer for 100 pesos? Wow - talk about budget-friendly! And, my drink was strong not watered-down. We returned a second time during our trip for dinner and had the same wonderful food experience (me - fish tacos, hubby - carne asada) - Yum!

As other posters have stated, there is no one outside pushing you to come in to eat there. The food speaks for itself. The waitress (same one on both visits) was very friendly and welcoming. We will definitely be back and would highly recommend Poc Chuc to anyone regardless of budget.
