We loved our stay at Punta Piedra! This was the perfect little beach place with a multimillion dollar view! Though it is not a luxury resort, it had everything we would have needed! We loved the oceanview and having a pool just steps outside of our door. We enjoyed laying in the hammock, laying by the pool or laying by the ocean! The wifi was great! We fell in love with Bowser the dog and will miss him until our next visit. The owner Amy....I can not say enough wonderful things about. A true gem! Maria at Mornings in Mexico made the whole reservation process a breeze. We will be making our next reservations soon since our trip ended way to soon!! Thanks for a wonderful stay!!

Room Tip: Not a bad view at the place!

I stayed at Punta Piedra with my young daughter, and two teenagers. We rented two rooms and it was plenty of space. My daughter loved having the pool right outside our door. The best part about this location is the the beach, and waking up to the sound of the ocean waves every morning. If you like to search for sea glass this is a wonderful location to start. Just walk up and down the beach in either direction and you can fill a bag full. It does get rocky and a little treacherous at some points. We rented a golf cart for some of the week, but it really isn't necessary- as you can walk to the north end of the island in 20 minutes or less. Listen in the morning for a ringing bell in the front- you can buy fresh squeezed juice from the vendor who rides his bike up and down the main street. My daughter fell in love with Bowser the dog! If, or when we go back to Isla Mujeres, we will for sure stay at Punta Piedra again. It was a few years ago that we stayed- though I couldn't go back that far in the drop down date selection.

We stayed here for two weeks and found it 's close proximity to the downtown very convenient by foot and by taxi. Although aging, the unit was well stocked with a fridge, dual burner stove, a blender, toaster, plastic dishes, pots, pans, cutlery and utensils. Located on the rugged, limestone East coast of Isla de las Mujeres, the beach here was not safe for swimming because of the rugged rocks and waves. However, the swimming pool outside our deck was most convenient. We enjoyed meeting our neighbors who were frequent long term tenants. We also enjoyed the presence of a television but the language was a bit of a barrier. Navy, the cleaning person did a fine job and was always so pleasant. Amy, the owner was so helpful and attentive to her tenants. Da Louisa Restaurant nearby serves great Italian food. We would recommend this place to economic travellers.

Room Tip: Unit 2 in Punta Piedra 2 was adequate.

just back from our 5th visit to the island and our first stay at PuntaPiedra. We stayed in a studio with a king size bed. Although a bit dated and dark, the studio has everything you need for a relaxing seaside stay. The kitchenette had a nice assortment of dishes, pot, pans, a coffee maker, 2 burner hot plate, blender and toaster oven. Drinking water is provided which is a huge plus. There are plenty of bath, kitchen, and beach towels. The best part is location, right on the beach where you fall asleep and wake up to the sound of waves. The pool area was also very nice. It is 20 minutes to town and about 5 to the colonia where you can find everything you need. My only suggestions are to update the bathrooms and maybe paint the units a lighter color as they are a bit dark. However, you will spend almost all your time outside.

This was right on the ocean, private, away from the crowds and the place came with a dog that we loved, Bowser. The only down side was the showers took some getting use to. A person needs a tutorial to take a shower. The place came with 2 bedrooms 3 baths, a kitchen living room and a great porch with a swimming pool. It was affordable and wonderful.

We stayed in the upstairs apartment. Amy, the owner, is extremely friendly and helpful. The apartment has a large balcony which overlooks the sea. One night a turtle came ashore to lay eggs, which was great to see. The apartment is within walking distance of a large supermarket and a 20 minute walk (or 40 peso taxi ride) away from the town.

Room Tip: The upstairs apartment has a large balacony overlooking the sea.

Punta Piedra has become our home away from home when we vacation on Isla Mujeres. We have stayed in 4 of the different room options and have been pleased with each. Each room has slight differences that make it unique. My sister-in-law commented the bed was one of the most comfortable she has had on vacation. There are plenty of towels provided, some larger than others which are perfect for the pool or beach.

During the winter months the pool at Punta Piedra II is a bit chilly, but during the summer months it feels perfect! You will really be spoiled being able to lounge around the pool or the beach and have very few (if any) people around. When you go to town, it can feel almost too busy and crowded. As for swimming in the sea, just bring water shoes and it's not bad. The water is rougher than on the other side of the island, but it's not unlike water we have experienced at other islands. My husband enjoys snorkeling just outside the room. The wi-fi works really well and is nice to have in the case of rainy days.
