Reviewed July 7, 2014 for a stay in June 2014

We were on the island June 12 - 20 with a group of 9 family members. We rented both studios, Apartment 1 and the Penthouse. We have stayed at Color De verano before and as usual it was perfect. The location is steps away from the most beautiful beach and each unit comes with beach chairs and an umbrella. Each unit has a kitchen with all the basics and we enjoyed making breakfast and a meal or 2. No complaints whatsoever and will stay there again. We had some folks in out group who had never been to Isla so we did everything: snorkeling, golf carts for the week, eating out, etc. Our favorites are the Soggy Peso, Rolandi (expensive but very good), M&J Casuela. The BEST meal we had was at Freddys. Its on the north end of Hidalgo and nothing fancy but the best authentic local food. Every single person in our big group said that was the best meal they'd had. A word about the beach clubs because we hit them all. Playa Lancheros: food was good as usual but no beach chairs; Captain Dulches: nice place but almost deserted and they had no limes! we must've been on the wrong day; Zama: beautiful place, good food, great service and the pools are wonderful; Tarzan: I don't know why really but I like this place. It just feels fun. Lots of activity. Food and drink good and reasonably priced. I used a paddle board for free. Music is festive; Fenix: This place is as good as it gets. The water is fantastic and full of fish. Bring a couple of tortillas with you and watch the fish come around. Fenix has these big pads with umbrellas. The combination ceviche was as good as I've ever had. Can't wait to go back.
