“Awe Inspiring!”

Let me start by saying that our guide was Rodrigo - who is FABULOUS! Very knowledgeable, caring, and has great communication skills. The price included: guide, transportation, walking stick, wet suit, locker with key, water shoes, and a good lunch.
Very well organized tour lasting about 2 hours. Highly recommend taking the wet suit and walking stick. I'm healthy and hike often and still found the walking stick to be a must.
Its a short walk on a trail and then you go into the cave and its about 1/2 mile exploration! The part where you just float thru the cave is one of the best things I've ever experienced. Also, the darkness and quiet was powerful. Its a difficult thing to describe, but I can say its something you should not miss!
Only downfall was that the bus driver to the caves was not very friendly and the ride was pretty bumpy. Cannot bring your camera, which we were upset about at first, but, after doing the tour, I can understand why....definitely glad I didn't have anything but my steps to worry about. I think it is a safety hazard and a pollution hazard and they are really trying hard to preserve the caves.
The pics are kinda pricy, but it goes to conserve the environment and also for the equipment maintenance. They have to change out equipment every 3 months due to the humidity within the caves. We bought the mid range package for $69 and split the cost between our group. Totally worth it to us.
Clearly, I absolutely LOVED this experience. It's like nothing I have ever done before! If I had not been leaving the next morning, I would have gone back to do this again before I left.
There are 3 routes Joy, Palace, & Supreme. We did the route called Joy. Awe Inspiring!

“A Secret River Waiting For You”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 14 April 2012

In the middle of nowhere is a refined infrastructure of change facilites and introduction spaces. Our group of 10 (max. #) guided by Alfredo (you can book him in advance if the group is large enough) stopped for a Mayan blessing prior to entering the first cave. WOW!! You have to stop to look up - turn your light on and just enjoy the entire tour of stalactites and stalagmite and column formations. The tour goes fast (1.5 hours) of walking and swimming (you have a wetsuit, watershoes, lifevest, helmet and light) able bodied people only recommended. We saw tiny catfish and phytoplancton, an eco-system in the tree roots taking in the fresh waters of the river and more. Photos are taken by their staff and are worth the purchase. Shower, change rooms and a great Mexican lunch that you never want to leave wrap up the terrific one of a kind in the world excursion. This is a unique river cave system tour not to be missed.

“Leave your camera home...”

A truly wonderful caving experience. Our only objection was that they don't let you take cameras into the cave. A photographer accompanies the tour and they take your pictures and then sell them at an exorbitant rate. Worse than that, everyone must stand around and wait while all the other group members get their own personal pictures taken. Other than that, it was a great experience.

“Secret River Rocks...literally”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 12 April 2012

Awesome excursion, well worth the money and far exceeded my (already high) ambitions. We had a terrific guide and the excursion as a whole is very well run. The caves themselves are something like you've never seen before and the fact you're in there swimming around (at times in areas where you can't touch), is remarkably. It's a one-of-a-kind experience that will not disappoint you. In addition, the cave tour was followed up by a very nice Mexican lunch which was not expected. Followed up with a few hours to spare for shopping at the end it was a wonderful day and again, a highly reccommended trip.
