Let me start by saying that our guide was Rodrigo - who is FABULOUS! Very knowledgeable, caring, and has great communication skills. The price included: guide, transportation, walking stick, wet suit, locker with key, water shoes, and a good lunch.
Very well organized tour lasting about 2 hours. Highly recommend taking the wet suit and walking stick. I'm healthy and hike often and still found the walking stick to be a must.
Its a short walk on a trail and then you go into the cave and its about 1/2 mile exploration! The part where you just float thru the cave is one of the best things I've ever experienced. Also, the darkness and quiet was powerful. Its a difficult thing to describe, but I can say its something you should not miss!
Only downfall was that the bus driver to the caves was not very friendly and the ride was pretty bumpy. Cannot bring your camera, which we were upset about at first, but, after doing the tour, I can understand why....definitely glad I didn't have anything but my steps to worry about. I think it is a safety hazard and a pollution hazard and they are really trying hard to preserve the caves.
The pics are kinda pricy, but it goes to conserve the environment and also for the equipment maintenance. They have to change out equipment every 3 months due to the humidity within the caves. We bought the mid range package for $69 and split the cost between our group. Totally worth it to us.
Clearly, I absolutely LOVED this experience. It's like nothing I have ever done before! If I had not been leaving the next morning, I would have gone back to do this again before I left.
There are 3 routes Joy, Palace, & Supreme. We did the route called Joy. Awe Inspiring!
