We stayed here for one night and I'm glad it was only one. It didn't feel truly clean. The carpet felt gritty, there was some mystery drops on the heater, one of the main lights didn't work, the few channels on the TV were mostly full of static (not a big deal but still). The walls were paper thin and we could hear more than we really wanted from the couple next door. It also sounded like elephants above us. Outside our door was a big bucket for cigarette butts. People in other rooms seemed to think this corner was a good place to congregate and smoke and socialize. It was manageable for a night but would definitely look elsewhere next time.

All rooms have an ocean view. Super friendly staff. The motel is a 3 minute drive from a fabulous sandy beach and the restaurant also has an ocean view. We loved the pan fried cod and the desserts were excellent.

You register at the Spidrift Inn and the cottages are a short distance away ... actually called Banting Seaside Cabins. The red cottage was very spacious, well equipped and comfortable. Good bed and bed linens. You can also eat dinner at the Inn (eg cod au gratin costs about $16). Musgrave Harbour is a very spread out community, so better signage for getting to the Inn would be helpful.

There’s really not much to do in Musgrave Harbour. The Fisherman’s Museum was closed. The Banting Interpretive Centre near the Banting walking trail was closed. The Foodex supermarket was closed and the building up for sale.

We stayed in the small cottages, they are ok.
There is no wi-fi but we didn't know that coming in.
People seem to think that because 120 is the going rate then they'll just charge it, I don't think it was worth that.
Small things like forks, soaps etc are all low budget, tv is pointless as there's no satellite.
Worst thing was the front deck that leads to front door is not built to code, so I twisted my ankle carrying things in (could have broken it)

I wrote and explained all this and asked for a reasonable discount - they didn't even respond.

The beaches in this area are freaking awesome - I recommend Dead Man's Bay.

We stayed a Banting Cottages, which is part of Spindrift Motel. There are 3 cottages located just up the street from the motel. The one we stayed in was a very spacious one bedroom. It is set up as wheelchair accessible, but there is about a 2 inch difference between the deck and the exterior door, so that might be an issue. No air conditioning, but ceiling fans in the bedroom and main living area. There is a bbq on the small deck. Kitchen has pretty much everything you need, but bring paper towels if you use them! We did have one noisy night thanks to the neighbours next door (Not guests, but area residents living next door to the cottages). Otherwise, a lovely stay.
