The hotel is easy to find and my first impression was that the complex had everything a weary traveller could need all on one site. I parked up and was greeted by a very pleasant receptionist, who checked me in quickly and efficiently.
Apart from some mould in the grouting in the bathroom, this is a very good Premier Inn. Shame there is still no air conditioning but they do leave a fan in the room. Staff are always lovely and bed is comfortable.
I have always been satisfied with premier inns, and have always thought they are excellent value for money, however, unfortunately this one was not up to the standard of other premier inns that I have been too. I had spider webs absolutely everywhere in my room and two squashed bugs on the ceiling. It was said that rooms were undergoing extra cleaning due to covid, unfortunately my room had been neglected in regards to dusting.
As usual for a premier inn the beds were comfortable and gave me a good night sleep. Room was nice apart from the bathroom which is because as shown in the photos the shower railing was disintegrating, rusty shower head and the metal surfaces of the railings were peeling off. And staff are meant to put ample amount of loo roll and shower gel which they didn’t here which needs to be seriously improved-we only stayed a night and the shower gel/loo roll ran out before we left. The shower’s confusion could’ve been looked at as it’s unhygienic for guests.
The hotel is in a convenient location for attractions in and around Northampton. Plenty of space in the car park. Staff very friendly. Room wasn’t big but had all the bases covered and was clean. Sleep was good, the road outside is busy but the sound didn’t travel I into the room. Contactless checkout in the morning aids a swift exit. I opted for the full breakfast in the adjoining restaurant. The breakfast was fine, lots of choice and Costa coffee makes for a decent cuppa! For a one night stop over I’d be happy to stay here again!
