“Wow”
Review of Huapoca Canyon

Reviewed March 6, 2017 via mobile

Friends who knew the area took me here. It was a long and very dangerous drive to this tiny lodge where we met up with a guide. Not touristy AT ALL. We didn't see a single person around, not a single car on the road there. This place is truly a hidden wonder. The guide at the lodge seemed surprised to see us but was happy to bring us out to the trail. He took us down a LONG, steep, and truly treacherous path to find these little pueblos/ cave systems carved into the edge of the cliff. They are not roped off, you can go inside and explore them. We went through them and came out on the other side of the cliff. Truly amazing. These have been here for hundreds of years and are in perfect condition. Probably because no on ever visits! It's so dangerous to get there! Was definitely the most difficult hike I've ever done. Don't go without a guide. So worth it if you're in Chihuahua.

The drive their is super dangerous you are driving on the edge of the canyon to go down and their has been many accidents of cars that fall all the way down. When we got their we rented spaces to camp next to the river it was so beautiful their are truly no words to discribe how amazing the place is. The water running their is crystal clean and the pools that where made their are not the cleanest but because it is on a natural semi hot water spring it is renewed every day. Take enough covers for the night it gets very cold and also good proper first aid equipment for the reason that help incase of an emergency would take a while. Their are also some cabins more in but we decide to go camping. Enjoy it!!
