We'd been eating Mexican food with gusto for nearly a month and needed a break. How about Thai? Sure; that sounds like a good idea. Thus, three of us popped into Orquidea Thai on the evening of Good Friday. Unlike virtually every other eatery in San Miguel that night, finding a table here was no problema. That's odd because the food here is very good. We started with two Thai standbys, Spring Rolls, Chicken Satay plus some Thai-type Guacamole. All were good although we thought the Satay was a bit too dry. Jane's red fish curry was very good, my pad Thai was okay, and Jose's chicken salad was complex and tasty. All portions were very large so, if you go there, be advised of that fact. The Orquidea Thai is a hidden jewel in San Miguel and provides an excellent respite from a steady diet of Mexican cuisine.
