“Hidden Jewel!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 21 April 2012

Where do you begin when you are lucky enough to find a hidden jewel like this!...We stayed here from April 14th through to the 20th. We booked through Expedia after reviewing Trip Advisor. Anyone who has stayed here and given a negative review does not appreciated Mexico at all!.

We checked in with Viri at the front desk...what a sweetheart!...she checked us in quickly and efficiently and with the the most friendly and personable service possible!...she actually made us feel like they were waiting for us :). We were shown to our room which was on the main level Room 101, and right away we found a problem with our patio door...this could not have been taken care of faster and friendlier, we actually felt guilty about complaining so soon; a big thank you to Juan....The room was spotless clean...and had everything that we were looking for. A beautiful 'swan' decorated our bed....with flowers galour....unfortunatley along with the flowers came the strong scent...which I cannot handle....I actually felt bad for removing the 'swan' to the deck...and we never had another one!....we did enjoy the elephant that was left after that with confetti...no flowers :)

After gladly finding that our patio was right on the pool side it was always just a walk out and jump in the pool or enjoy the sun on the comfortable loungers that were provided. It was also a nice treat to see that they provided full sized towels poolside...you don't always find that.

The pool was not olympic sized; but who swims laps in Cabo?...not us!..and shallow enough if you have children you don't have to worry ....as long as they can swim a little :)...they also have comfortable pool beds to enjoy that afternoon nap on ....

The Pool bar....Diago...makes the bar!...his smile and fun personality shows his love for the job!. Diago...he will make you feel like 'the only' customer ....he made us feel special right from the get go!...but please take the time to talk to him he is a fountain of information and will always try and share that with you!...he remembers your name...if not your room #, AND what you drink....thank you for going that extra mile Diago...spoon,....bowls...Thank you!

We actually tried to be 25 one night; and Yuan...thank you for pushing the 10 pm close on the hot tub. But a thank you also has to be said for the staff that starts early and works late to make sure the pool is clean and ...even when its not your 'job' will grab a bucket of ice for a guest!....

As you have noticed the staff here go beyond the call of duty. We called room service after the '25 wonna be' night at 1130 am....and requested breakfast...he informed me that it was lunch menu...but 'wait...let me check'....and delivered us the breakfast we wanted!....We always wake up early and like to have coffee...but not just a 'cup'...we asked for a carafe of coffee each and every morning...unfortunatley one morning they brought us 2 'cups' of coffee..and wanted to charge us the same price.....this was fixed immediately with apologies...

Then when we found the coffee shop; they remembered us as the 'carafe' orderers!...

Restaurant...unfortunatley we did not eat there enough...we heard nothing but rave reviews!...we did have breakfast there one morning and it was good...not the top of the line...but again very good service!...We will definitley try the pizza there next time...because there will be a next time!.

So this is what I heard from other guests...some have stayed there many times....YES the bar can get loud...expect this..., The first and second floors have seen renovations...try and choose those...The bathrooms are NOT sound proof...at all....close your bathroom door if you don't want to hear the people next door...

Location was great...not on the beach...a block from. and a short walk down to the marina and downtown....

Again!...I could go on and on...but please check it out and you will not be disapointed!...

Room Tip: try and request a room pool side...first or second floor

Thank you very much for your review. My name is Lee Vosburgh and i am the on-site partner here at the Bahia. It is the goal of ownership to deliver a personalized service and enhance the guest thru one on one interactions as you have described in your review.
The staff here and the Mexican people are truly unique. It is very rewarding to read a review that describes how we feel about the hotel and our employees.

Hope to see you again in the near future.

We stayed at the Bahia in the condo's through a website recommended on the forum. The price was unbelievable for the area. That said, there were a few glitches. Check in was instant but when we got to the rooms. Hmmm. My sons took the room down behind the swim up bar. It had a pretty strong smell of backed up bathroom. We opened the bathroom window and hoped for the best. It didn't go away. The other room was O.K. a little more updated and was clean and inviting. What we didn't realize was that it was directly over the entrance and sitting on the balcony was looking at the vans pull up and listening to the staff hang out and people chatting waiting for their rides. It also looked directly at the front of the Dorado. For the price, it was still a bargain until that night and every night we stayed thereafter when the band and crowd from the Bar Esquina restaurant in the hotel kept the decibel level at unbearable until the wee hours. And I do mean wee. I wore my husbands noise cancellation headphones with earplugs turned the travel clock white noise on and still the pounding of the music was unbelievable until very, very late or maybe early.
We were moved the next day after speaking with the condo manager. I realize that it is not the hotel's fault because we rented direct from an owner. But OMG, really?
That aside, I really liked the small pool area and bar, there is a small shop for coffee and pastries outside the restaurant and the bar area is very cool. The location is wonderful, just a half a block from the beach and beach bars and easy 5 minute walk to downtown. If the rooms were all updated and the restaurant and bar were more considerate, it would be a real winner.
The price was right, and there are lots of positive things about this hotel, but I think we are going to look at some other options next time. .

Room Tip: stay in the deluxe hotel rooms on the 1st and 2nd floor facing the pool.

I would give this seven stars if I could! This little gem was fantastic - a 1 minute walk for the beach, affordable and really really cool. We sent the first evening at the restaurant which is cool -- and I mean really cool, like, NYC, Miami, etc. cool -- with cool people and fantastic food. We spent most of our days on the beach but retired to the pool/ hot tub at the hotel in the evenings.

One of the guys who runs the place (I believe his name was Lee) totally hooked us up with the cool places to see/ things to do in the area. He's an old New Yorker but now lives and works in Cabo. Anywho, the helpful staff totally make this place unique.

In short: loved it, will come back, and totally recommend it to anyone who's looking for a cool place to chill in Cabo.

We stayed at the Bahia for four nights and had a great time. The pool area is lovely and the poolside bar is nice to have a beverage in the afternoon. It is also shaded if you are not a sun lover. The hotel restaurant is fabulous and does tasty breakfasts and fabulous dinners. The pizza is delicious. In fact, every meal we had at the restaurant did not disappoint. Location of the hotel is good - close to the marina, beach and main streets of Cabo. The rooms are nice and were perfect for what we required. The only thing I would say is that the toilet doors are made of bamboo and so there is not much privacy from the bathroom to the bedroom area. This hotel has a fun, party atmosphere so if you are looking for a quiet, tranquil getaway this may not be what you are looking for as it was kind of noisy at times.

i would never stay there again. they have no clue, nor do they care if drunk kids roam the halls all night. Checking out - got ripped off. Disputed charges that were not ours. They said they would remove them - by a guy who did not understand English. Got charged for them anyway. Think I'll get the credit card company to reverse them?

The Bahia is one of my favorite places to stay in Cabo. I just recently stayed there in November 2011 and March 2012 and enjoyed each time very much. It is in the perfect location across from Medono beach and The office ( my favorite place to eat). The bahia has everything you need for a wonderful vacation. The staff is prompt and very friendly. They have a awesome coffee bar downstairs that has fresh muffins and excellent coffee. They also have a nice restaurant that has live music at night and yummy food. This place is hip and relaxing at the same time! Thanks Bahia for another great stay! Ill be back in October. I will reccomend you guys for sure :)
Love, Danelle Grandpre

Room Tip: The rooms pool side are great and definilty my favorite!
