there are 3 beaches, go to the third one. It is very private, the snorkeling is great and the boats do not dock here. We brought beer and a picnic...fantastic time!

This is a beautiful little beach. Lots of pretty fish to see if you like to snorkel. The sand is soft and there are shells and coral to be found throughout the beach. We snorkeled a bit but it was pretty rough the day we were there. About 20 palapas to sit under if you get there by 10:00 am. Our kids loved exploring on the rocks and small hills that were there to climb.
Overall a great day...They really need a new bathroom with a better septic system. It is almost unusable. It's the only thing that took away from us giving it 5 stars. It's pretty bad. Bring your own TP. No food or drink services, so pack food and beer and soda! ;) Lifeguard on duty throughout the day.

We had a rental car, so decided to explore some of the local beaches. Chileno Bay (or Bahia Chileno) is a beautiful crescent-shaped cove beach about halfway between Cabo and San Jose. The water was crystal clear and Caribbean blues, but quite chilly at the end of March, and the sand was very course – would have been nice to have water shoes. Apparently sometimes there may be snorkel equipment for rent on the beach, but not the day we went. But we waded out and could see the fish just by looking down. We met some kayakers who saw whales right off the beach.

Several boats come and drop off dozens of snorkelers, which make the waters a little more crowded than they would ordinarily be, but still much quieter and more peaceful than the hustling Medano Beach. There is a parking lot, bathrooms, trash cans (with cute animal designs on them) and palapas available.

Chileno Beach had plenty of palapas on the beach and the parking lot was close to the beach entrance, which makes it convenient for families with children who can not walk very far. The water is blue and clear, but there is a rather large trench that is close to the shore, which makes it a challenge for children to play in the water without finding themselves in deep water quickly. If you are interested in a clean beach and aren't worried about young children, this beach is recommended.
