As a time share ownere at PB Sunset, we experienced a difficult time booking a week long reservation for the week April 17-24, 2012. PBSSB has now gone to offering "all inclusive" options for meals and beverages. We selected the 3 day plan at $79 per day per person. Not too bad. We elected to take the 3 consecutive days early in our stay and that was the right decision. All was fine except that the facility itself is not staffed to handle "all inclusive" nor are the dining facilities adequate. With reservations, we typically waited fro a table more than 45 minutes beyond our reservatiion time. One evening, we waited 90 minutes. This expericence m ore than cancelled out the beauty of the facility itself. Bar tenders were in short supply and a bit arrogant. Wait staff was not up to par with our previous stays (5). In short, I would not stay at PBSSB, unless I were already an owner, nor would I recommend that anyone buy a time share there. The crowd is now much different and there are just no advantages to being an owner at this point.

Stayed here April 10-17. We had a 2 bedroom villa with a hot tub. Initially they had us at the back of the property (building 21). We asked to be moved closer to the beach. Luz at the front desk was great and spent a good amount of time finiding us a suitable room in building 32. My only complaint is that she said the new room also had a hot tub (it didn't). The rooms closer to the beach are a bit dated when compared to the roos further away. Our stay was generally good. The kids enjoyed the kids club. Food and drinks were good.

We are not owners so we agreed to attend the timeshare presentation. At the conclusion of the presentation, we indicated we didn't wish to purchase. The salesguy became extremely rude. I guess you can't expect too much from those guys.

This is truly one of the most beautiful places you will see. The waves are enormous and the beach is free of vendors and a beautiful place to walk. If you prefer to swim in the ocean and not a pool you may be disappointed. The suites are exceptionally well cared for, beautiful and comfortable. There is a beautiful view of the ocean from virtually every suite. The restaurants are exceptional as well and the food is excellent. There are many pools to choose from and you can even use the accommodations at Rose and Blanca in town, as well as Hotel Pacifica below the resort, closer to the beach.

Room Tip: All rooms have an excellent view, accommodations and noise is minimum except for the golf carts if y...

Our room was amazing. We had a full kitchen and a large bedroom. Huge terrace with a hot tub that overlooked the ocean. I went at the end of March and during the day you could watch the whales jumping in the ocean. Spent most of my pool time at the Sky Pool which had a great view. Staff was very courteous. There was a free shuttle that ran on the hour that would take you downtown to their sister resort the Blanco/Rosie (which are side by side). On the half hour the free shuttle would take you back to Sunset Beach. Only negative experience I had was when I tried to bring guests back they were not allowed onto the resort.

Room Tip: Ask for one of the executive sweets that are higher up near the sky pool. Little more expensive but...

This is a truly lovely property. Location away from the hub-bub of town make it both serene and allow for effective guest security. Spent last week of March 2012 in 1 bedroom suite; daughter and friend in a studio suite. Ours was roomy and well appointed, although the COUCH (futon-ish sleeper weirdly wedged into wall) left much to be desired in comfort. Studio suite was great for the two teens. Views are lovely, and the grounds nothing short of a 50 acre garden. The cart arrangement was very workable, with pick-up service timely and an ample supply at the beach level and main (level 3) pickup area. (Comments about carts being loud at night and in the early morning are, however, accurate.) Staff very polite, well trained and attentive. Housekeeping staff was wonderful - remember to tip those lovely ladies everyday!

Hats off to Oscar at the Villa 27 pool from prompt and friendly service (love those off-the-menu fish tacos!). Other than pool-food, however, restaurants were marginal and food service sub-par. "Bistro" menu was uninspired, and the 2+hour wait was ridiculous. I get that an "always open" seating policy may be needed in the family-friendly option, but strongly suggest taking reservations for 1/2 of dinner seating so that SOME planning ahead is possible. The Wednesday "Italian Night" buffet at the beach restaurant (forget the name) is definitely NOT recommended. 4 types of canned sauces with noodles - with NO ability to add veggies, seafood or chicken - awful lasagne and same old overly sweet boxed-mix desserts make this event a TOTALLY AVOID. Room service waits were ATROCIOUS. We ordered breakfast twice - delivery times were 1.25 hour wait and 53 minute wait. I was actually told by an employee picking up the room service line NOT to bother to order just coffee - they had 9 deliveries stacked up on the other side of the property, and we would be better off going to the deli and purchasing it. She then terminated the call without giving me any chance to nevertheless accept the wait. The deli was, in fact, a good option for a quick snack and late night treat, BUT I really would have preferred not to have to dress and walk 10 minutes each way to get my morning cup of coffee. Lack of options in the dining area were made worse by the isolation of the property and the fact that the concierge was CLUELESS about in-town options, and offerings of competing properties. We were handed menus from sister Pueblo Bonita properties and told of bus availability. My 17 year old could have done a better job.

I still recommend the property for its beauty and comfort. I did not go to Mexico so I could eat hotel food for a week. Rent a car (as we did) or pay for taxi service for dinners out, and consult Cabo Restaurant Top Picks on this site and you will be fine.

Room Tip: Villa 27 provides nice view of the beach without view of the main pool / restaurant facility, 1/2 wa...

The previous reviews cover much of what needs to be said. This is a first rate resort, there are just a couple of minor things to know.
The WiFi is free only at 2 of the breakfast spots otherwise there is a daily fee through out the rest of the resort.
The surf is dangerous so the bus to the PB Rose @ Medano Beach is necessary if you want to enjoy the ocean
Getting to downtown requires either getting a cab or taking the bus to PB Rose and walking the 10-15 minutes to town.
The food at the resort is generally very good, the rooms are spacious and comfortable.
We were here on an RCI extra vacation, I would be happy to stay here again.

Room Tip: All rooms have an ocean view, the golf carts provide good access no matter where your room is. If yo...

We came here for 7 days just after Easter on RCI special. Crowded needed to make dinner reservations or not eat until after 9 pm. Main pool never got chairs we used Adult pool. Sunset has over 648 units spread over a steep hillside therefore there are great views of the resort and Pacific ocean and nice beach that is too dangerous to wade or swim in. Our junior suite in Building 20 high up was clean and spacious. We are Active seniors walked down and took golf carts up. We did the 3 day All Inclusive and it was good. Attended a low pressure Sales update got lots of info and over $500 in certificates and great Caborey dinner show cruise. We said No and were treated with respect. Took the free shuttle to sister resort Pueblo Bonito Rose next to Blanco. Next time in Cabo will stay at Rose, nice beach, beautiful and safe water for swimming and water sports, nice grounds and "Not Spread Out and is close to town." Sunset is Isolated away from Cabo and night life. We are owners in Pueblo Bonito Emerald Bay Mazatlan. We love PB Emerald Bay Mazatlan Best as city and seaport is like vintage Mexico with more reasonable prices, less touristy and is safe, however ocean water prettier at PB Rose Cabo. Pueblo Bonito resorts are very nice, well equipped, good food, beautiful pools and grounds and Friendly great staff.

Room Tip: All rooms have views. Depends on which pool you want to be near. There are 7 beautiful Pools. Main...
