Sunset Beach offers not just a beautiful Mexico vacation but has upped the bar by offering a Butler service through the Elite program. Carlos was service oriented, personable, professional, English proficient and had a team that worked with him to create a First Class week. It was literally an upgrade like flying First Class vs Coach...each day.
My wife and I look forward to going back again!
Traveled to PB Sunset Beach in September. We stayed in a two bedroom Presidential Suite. The stay was "almost Perfect" due only to the Hurricane that hit us directly.
We had absolutely no complaints about this property. We were taken care of in every area. The room and the resort as a whole were amazing. We even did the timeshare presentation and were treated very well compared to most I have been to. The sales people were very professional and we did not get any hard sell treatment.
We did not do the all inclusive as we wanted to try different places in town. We did eat at three of the restaurants at the resort and all were quite good.
We used the resort shuttle to travel to the sister resort, Rose, which made it very easy to visit in town. We also spent an evening at the other property, the Pacifica Hotel next door and it was very nice. We just spent the evening hanging out by the pool and beach, so we never saw the rooms there. The grounds were immaculate.
What really speaks to the character of this resort and the employees is what happened after the hurricane hit us. Even with the loss of power and water during some times, the employees were all in good spirits and eager to help guest out as much as possible. We spoke to many employees who either had not gone home to check their property or who had lost everything, but they were still at work and striving to help us. Yes, it was uncomfortable to have no AC, limited power and water, waiting in long lines at times, but this resort and its employees were truly up to the task of making sure that everyone of their guest was accommodated to the best of their ability.
We spent an additional 5 days at the resort waiting to be evacuated and the resort did not charge anyone for their rooms after the date they were supposed to check out. Only one of the restaurants could be used and it was open for 3 meals a day at minimal cost, and after the first day, at no cost. Basically these guys were entertaining everyone the best they could under horrible circumstances and at their own expense.
For this reason, I would most definitely return to the PB Sunset Beach. They earned my business many times over on this visit!
We stayed on the property for 7days and it was so beautiful. We had a junior suite that had a corner view of the ocean. Incredible beach although you cant swim in it. The resort is huge and it has everything you need (6 pool areas), tennis courts, golf carts that take you around, different restaurants to choose from, and a small deli type grocery store. It was a very pretty place and the maid service was very good and very clean. However I felt because it is so big there is a lot of people and room service takes 40mins or more even if it is just for towels. We went to visit the Pacifico Hotel which is part of Pueblo Bonito which was more of a boutique hotel with less people and a younger crowd. We were also called the first day we got there and told we had a welcome package to pick up and when we got there the lady told us we had a free breakfast buffet the next morning for staying wit them along with a $150 food and drink credit to use in the hotel. What she did not say was that it was not a welcoming package but a 90 min. selling shpeel that you had to sit through to get all she was giving us. It turned into a 3 hour ordeal with a breakfast that was shared with the sales man not even just us alone. No breakfast with a stranger trying to sell us pueblo bonito. What upset me is the dishonesty behind the whole welcoming package. Then when you don't buy anything anything they offered that you didn't put on the voucher before you said no to then no longer is offered later. Not good!!!!! So don't fall for it as well as we didnt think the food on the property was that great. Don't buy the all inclusive unless you're a Man who eats and drinks a lot. Go to Walmart. Yes!!! Walmart and buy food to cook in your suite. We made breakfast every morning and some sandwiches in the afternoon and left going out to eat outside the hotel for dinners. We also rented a car at the airport and we used it all week to visit the area and to go to dinner. It was worth it and the hotel has free guest parking.
