This was our third trip on the Buccaneer Queen & we've never been disappointed.
SNORKELLING:
Our most recent trip (Dec 2011) was the afternoon snorkelling trip. We went with our boys and also some friends & their boys. The pirates were great with the kids and entertained them with sword fights, silly dances etc. The snorkelling was supposedly ok but those from our group that did venture into the water said the snorkelling is actually better over by Pelican Rock (by Lover's Beach). The overall atmosphere is worth the adventure though. As mentioned before, lunch is a simple fare of hot dogs and fruit salad but it was actually quite tasty! Drinks are available the entire trip. The boat only had a few families & couples on it so was nice to have some room to move, interact etc.
SUNSET CRUISE:
Our first two trips were on the sunset cruise, both times with our kids. While the kids just saw it as an outing on a pirate ship and were young enough to be oblivious to the booze and adult jokes, I would agree with the person that said it isn't as suitable for kids. My one complaint would be that the second time we went on the sunset cruise (Feb 2011) it was so crowded we were crammed in like sardines and then when it was snack time and some of the seating became the table, we were really squished. Our late Nov/early Dec trips have been less busy.
All in all, it is a fun excursion & who doesn't enjoy a couple hours on a pirate ship! These guys know how to take care of you and are worth a tip at the end. If you aren't looking for fun or have high expectations, then go on one of the calmer catamaran tours.
