Want to relax for a Reasonable rate?

5.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed Oct 4, 2014
I raveled with family via an Intervale get away option. This place has whatever you are looking for in a wonderful, relaxing, and affordable resort including: a spa, 5 or 6 pools, some are called quiet pools, others are noisy, activities included bocce ball, shuffle board, ping pong, pool soccer, pool aerobics, pool volleyball, olymics for the kids, boggie boarding ( free) kayaking(free, eautiful golf course, night shows ( which were fantastic)

The owner also buiilt a hospital very nearby, a shoppig center with a grocery sore and sjops and restaurants ( try jund small but delicious food- crazy as it sounds the pasta alfredo was out of this world)

You could get all inclusive or not, You could take the 90 minute tour and select some options you get for taking the tour. We chose the mexican fiesta- food was good, the show was wonderful and you also could have all you want to drink! We also went to Western night and it was a lot of fun- food good and all you could drink also.

You could also buy a book of ten tickets for $35.00 and use to purchase drinks- most drinks 1 ticket per drink.

The beach has 500 huts you can use ( free) for shade on the beach.

There is a kids club and playgrounds and play areas for the kids ( there were only 22 there when we stayed)

People were nice, friendly, prompt with everything and efficient 15 minutes from the airport!

Great service, great food, & great drinks. Staff treated us like royalty! Many staff members spoke very good English. Rooms were very clean. Resort has a market, shopping mall, pharmacy, etc w/in walking distance. The all inclusive package is well worth the money!

I wish I could give this resort 4 stars. This is the 2nd time we stay here...the first stay was in 2007.

Pros:
Pools - my kids loved the slides & underwater "caves". We used the pools daily.
Beach - you have direct access to the beach. There are servers who set up your chairs and umbrella for you. They also bring you items from the bar and restaurant. Great service.
Room- I enjoy having a kitchen. We stayed in a 2 bedroom. There is daily maid service.
Resort- the resort is big. It has its own shopping center, casino, pharmacy, and hospital. We went here often to pick up items from the grocery store.

Cons:
The beds and pullout sofa were all very uncomfortable. Unfortunately, it made it so I couldn't get a good night's rest. The adults and kids all mentioned they felt the springs in the pullout. The bed mattresses and huge pillows were beyond firm. If the beds had been comfortable I would have given the resort a 4 star rating...but a huge part of vacationing is getting good sleep.

We stayed here the last week of August. Most kids are back in school by then, so we had no problem getting chairs by the pool or beach. It did rain almost everyday, but just a couple of hours. I advise to bring bug spray and anti-itch cream if you visit during this time of year.

I am an owner at PV and visited for two weeks on 7/16 to 7/30, 2014. I must say I will never visit during this time of year again as it was way too crowded with local Mexicans whom I was told mainly visit during this time of year. I visited two years ago during August and the resort was practically empty which I loved. This time though was horrendous with the thousand kids and whole generations of families everywhere. The pool at Tikal was so full you could barely see the water. Yuk! The only thing that saved my vacation was the ability as a member to go over to the golf course area restaurant and the Golf and Racquet Club area which has its own spa and pool facilities and which were never occupied by more than a few people. Whew!!!

Other than that, we stayed in the Coba Tower in a two bedroom with a full kitchen. We were first in Tikal, but those rooms have kitchenettes with no oven so we requested to be moved. There is a pool and whirlpool by Coba, but once the locals found it, you could never get in without it being overcrowded. The Coba suite had a washer and dryer in it which was excellent.

The facilities at PV are excellent without the overcrowding. The room service is timely. I hated eating in Tulum (where all the crowds eat). It was like a zoo. But Sunday Brunch at the golf course restaurant was 5 star all the way and no crowds. Regular breakfast was excellent in that restaurant also. The most fabulous restaurant on the premises was Il Pescatore, the Italian place. Excellent food, very high quality, upscale atmosphere, not too pricey (but expensive enough to keep the fast food crowds away), excellent service. We ate there several times for dinner which averaged about $50 per person. Note that this restaurant is not on the all-inclusive list and the closest one to fine dining you will get on premises.

The only place to avoid the overcrowding was the beach which was large enough for everyone. Most of the locals were by the pools and you could not get a lounge chair all day, but the beach had available ones. Beach side food and drink service was good.

Some commenters mentioned the hard beds. They are like rocks, so you should request a foam topper for the beds when you check in or call housekeeping to put one or two on the beds, They will do it but you have to ask. This solves the hard bed problem.

The resort is fabulous, the service is great, people are friendly, food is good, but it all depends on what time of year you go. I will never go in July again.

Clearly, anyone who rates that is place higher than a 3 has not stayed at the better resorts in the area.

The rooms are outdated and smell like mold.

The staff with exception to the bell boys, are rude and demanding.

The charges are ridiculous for food that is not even edible.

The poor caged animals look sad and depressed.

Good mentioned to the pool which was Uber clean and extremely fun.

The beds are so hard that I slept on the couch because after one night on the bed my back ached so much I could barely walk.

Tips: stay at the new building marina side, they have parking, a quiet lap pool, and a secret hot tub behind the building

We just returned home from a 2 week stay in Mexico. Yet again, Paradise Village did not disappoint.
Check-in - we were met with cool drinks and warm smiles. 6 very hot people in out party. Our room was not ready as we were a little early, we planned to be all-inclusive, got our wrist bands and went and had lunch.
Room - We were upgraded to the top floor, views all around, had to be the best room in resort. Tower 4 --tip Get tower 3 or 4, closest to the pool and beach, any room there will work, elevators and easy access to restaurant
Tip - Tower 4 higher levels possible to get sunrise and sunset
Activities - Our routine was beach in the morning, lunch and pool in afternoon - pool volleyball is a must if you are a drinker, I will let that be a surprise for you! The wait staff made out trip, whatever we needed it just happened.
Food - Again, we were all inclusive and at this resort it works, different food every night, breakfast always had fresh eggs, pancakes etc. Fruit is great, TIP: get your French toast out of warmer and have egg chef put back on grill just a minute. You will never go hungry always something for everybody.
Bottom line, this is a great resort, we have been many times over the years and will be back again!

Room tip: tower 3 and 4 best pool access and beach access pool in afternoon for activities get evening cocktails from lobby bar if you want to drink in room! Morning coffee and sweets easy at lobby bar don't have to go to restaurant
