It doesn’t matter if you’ve been coming here for 15 years. It doesn’t even matter if you own a time share here. When you check in it’s the computer that chooses your room. !! There is no discretion shown by any of the staff!! It’s really the luck of the draw. That being said the staff are friendly. The place is clean and very lovely. So here’s the conundrum. Do you still come here and stress out about that room with the ocean view that you want but might not get?? Or just get on with looking at the mountains instead.?? Sound spoiled?? Maybe so. But if I’m flying 5 hours to get here and am a long standing time share owner I want to know that I have my ocean view.So after all these years of coming here we will not return. I don’t like surprises. Want to get the room I want!! Your choice. Life is too short. Enjoy your view.

Very nice food and beverage quality, the place is huge and you need to use transportation from one place to another !! Very good ambiance and landscape!!

Great and well equipped gym and spa, the app is giving you the location of the restaurants and bars so you never get lost as long as you have your cellphone with you .....

We will return for sure !!

Salvador, Brandon and the whole Joy Squad team at the pool have made our experience here so much fun. They are always smiling and encouraging everyone to join in the activities. They have lots to do like water aerobics, Mexican bingo, blackjack or Texas holdem, pool games and arts and crafts. The property itself is pretty good, the grounds are spectacular and the service here is excellent. We've had a few minor issues with the room, but overall it's beautiful. Stay away from the Sales Sharks and you will enjoy your stay.

We are owners at Grand Luxxe but stay at The Grand Bliss as the weekly rates are less expensive and we love the location of the building. We've been members with Vidanta since 1988. Since then, we've seen the resorts expand exponentially, with the Mayan Riviera having a Cirque du Soleil and Nuevo Vallarta in the process of building for it's Cirque du Soleil. We love the Nuevo Vallarta resort because of the layout, the miles of beach, and the attractions (a lazy river for all ages, kids waterpark, and wave pools). There is an excellent kids club on site too! We spent a lot of time walking the beach and relaxing under a palapa on the beach. The Brio gym and spa in The Grand Mayan is excellent! All of the grounds are interconnected with covered boardwalks which includes running/walking routes (really great!). Shuttles are available to take you between buildings, restaurants, and the beach. Every night there is high quality free entertainment in the Santuario. This is not an all-inclusive resort but we always buy the 6-ticket booklet for the Cafe de Lago breakfast. This is something you should not miss out on; three omelet bars, fresh empanadas, sushi bar, crepe station, fresh juices, roasted meats, loads of fresh fruit. Cost for the booklet works out to $20 Cdn. per ticket. Nothing on the resort is economical but the quality is extraordinary! La Plaza has an exquisite jewelry store, a market, fresh bakery, a huge variety of chocolates, liquor store, pharmacy, and florist. They also have clothing (pricey). We ate at the taco place on the third floor of Le Plaza and it was wonderful! We rarely eat on resort, preferring to buy our groceries in Puerto Vallarta (PV) at Mega or Walmart. There are plenty of plates, glasses and cutlery in the suite. What is lacking is a kettle to make tea. The cookware is old and you need a lot of oil to prevent food from sticking. No oven but there is a microwave. Next year, we will bring our own frying pans and a collapsible colander. We stayed in suite 1624, facing the mountains. We would have preferred an ocean view, and have always had one in years past, but this was still a good view. The rooms in The Grand Bliss are in need of an overhaul. The king sized bed is very comfortable but the pillows are lumpy and well used. In our suite, all the lamp shades were rusty, from the salt air. Still, it would make a better impression if they were replaced more frequently, given what we pay to stay there. The curtains were very dirty and the decor is tired looking. We can't say enough about the staff. Miguel, bell boy, was fantastic; helpful at all times and so polite! Emelia, from housekeeping, looked after us for the two weeks we were there. She spoke no English, we spoke no Spanish, but we communicated fine. Emelia always had a ready smile, was very efficient, and so very grateful for the tip and school notebooks/pencils we gave her every day. When we had a clogged sink, someone from maintenance came immediately and fixed it for us. The a/c works very well too. We went to PV several times for suppers out and to enjoy the Malecon and all it offers. Make sure you go to Murphys Irish Pub and Taste of Italy! Close to Taste of Italy is Roberto's jewelry kiosk; he is a fine man with great personality! There are numerous great restaurants in PV where you can eat for under $20 Cdn. One thing that has changed in the past year is our inability to easily leave the resort to catch a local bus to PV. We used to be able to have a shuttle drop us near the front gate and we would walk half a block to the local bus stop. Now, you have to walk along the roadway and dodge cars to get to the exit gate. Sure, we could catch a taxi but it costs $13 to do so as opposed to catching a bus for less than $1 p.p. We did go through the time share presentation which takes the greater portion of the day. Our time share representative, Ian Pickett, is a very professional man and at no time did we feel highly pressured to upgrade. We'll be returning to The Grand Bliss for 3 weeks next year!

Room tip: Higher floors are quieter. You can ask for an ocean view but won't be guaranteed.

Great golf available. 2 18 hole courses plus a 9 hole par 3 course that you can play day or after dark. A tremendous selection of pools available plus any kind of restaurant you desire. Walking the beach is also a great way to relax the day away.

Room tip: Very clean with most of the necessities provided.
