“Relaxing Stay”
Reviewed 3 November 2011

We stayed at Irwins Mountain Inn for one night and wished we had more time to stay. It was a wonderful experience from the time we checked in right through to check out. The staff was so friendly and obliging. Our room was very clean, fresh crisp sheets on the beds and lots of towels. We had a great view of the mountain from our deck. We were in a great location, right on main street in Banff and walking distance to all the shops and restaurants.

We stayed at Irwins Mountain Inn for 6 nights as a family of 6. Staff were always polite and obliging. Accomodation is desperately in need of updating but having said that, accomodation was clean but basic. Our room was cleaned every day without fail! No kettle in the room was a little bit of an issue, plus the microwave was there if you provided all cooking utensils and bowls etc. You got just that....a microwave! Eating out around Banff was expensive and very few places actually catered for children! Would have liked to have made more use of the cooking facilities at the hotel if only we had packed the bowls and cooking utensils! haha! We booked the accomodation knowing that it was basic but overall it provided us with a family room for 6 which few other hotels in the area were able to do. We got what we paid for. Leisure facilities were not family friendly. The hot tub was exactly that and far too hot for children of any age. We were pleased overall! But if you are expecting luxury...this is not for you! Great location to downtown Banff and the shops. Good value for money!

Stayed in Banff recently.
Irwin's Inn is the best value in town.
It isn't the fanciest in Banff (so it isn't the priciest) but everything about the hotel felt crisp and clean and there were some thoughtful touches (like the small room key box on my way out to the parking garage so I didn't have to run back upstairs to drop off my key).
Room had everything I needed, internet was quick, got a good rest on very comfortable bed.
Best value in Banff.

Bathroom was gross. Old and the edges of the floor were not clean. Parking is horrible, but it was Melissa's Run weekend. The air conditioning in our room stopped working and the toilet got plugged.

Well located hotel that we used when travelling through Alberta/B.C. Little bit of a walk from downtown Banff but a 10/15 min stroll gets you there. Staff were friendly and considerate and we certainly didn't encounter any problems. The hotel doesn't do breakfast but would highly reccommend the adjacent "El Toro". At first glance breakfast may look a little pricey but we were very pleasantly surprised - it was great value and the staff very pleasant too!

The room was ok real small though. The parking lot is tiny and has few parking stalls. When we arrived we drove around for 45 mins to find somewhere to park and ended up a fair distance from the hotel. Although the cost was alright and the location was decent I would stay somewhere else next time.

stayed at this hotel at the end of Aug. when visiting Banff, the location of the hotel is decent. it's walkable to most of the restaurants and stores on Banff Ave. and far away enough from the noise. the room we got was not that great, we had 2 queen beds and 1 pull out sofa. it had a very odd layout and not user friendly/efficient, the bathroom is also small and old. we barely had enough room to move around when the sofa bed is out. it did have a fridge and microwave, so that came in handy for us. parking underground is also pretty tight unless you have a tiny car. the hotel looks a little dated and could use some update.
