Mountain Home Bed and Breakfast

Just returned from a week in the Canadian Rockies. Spent two nights at the Mountain Home Bed & Breakfast in Banff. Owners Lynne & Ecki Treutler were very cordial. On the morning we were heading to Jasper Ecki gave us a map of the Icefields Parkway and pointed out all the stops we should make. We would have missed many wonderful sights if not for his help. The breakfasts were excellent. Both mornings there was a large bowl of cut fruit and two yogurt toppings. Three choices of cereal. The first morning we had large waffles with a strawberry topping. The next morning we had the best blueberry panckes we have ever eaten along with homemade bannana bread. The young lady who served us the second morning was extremely friendly.

The rooms are large and airy. The whole house is immaculate . You could see your face in the tiles. The best part was the location, location, location. Only two blocks from the main drag with all the stores and restaurants. Plenty of on street parking or if you prefer, there are spots behind the house.

The Mountain Home B&B is an excellent place to stay when you are in Banff at a reasonable price.

The rooms and breakfast are perfect, huge beds and really comfortable. The position is also excellent just a couple of minutes from the center. We were met by a lady called Missy and she was really pleasent and helpful, but we were a little dissapointed when we met Lynne the owner, she was pleasent but fairly aloof compared to other B&B owners we had met in Canada. One of the reason we like staying in B&b's is the interaction and if Lynne was a little more attentive this place would be near perfect.

This was our first trip to Banff and it will not be our last. In fact, we will probably stay at Mountain Home again the next time. Before we went, we did our research on Trip Advisor and the reviews pf this B&B were spot on. Our rate of $165 is more than I would normally pay, but in Banff it is a bargain, especially with breakfast. Beds were fine for a good nights sleep. It was very clean and cleaned every day we were there. The owners make you take your shoes off downstairs which shows the pride they have in keeping things clean upstairs. Breakfast was plentiful and the main course was different each of the five days we stayed. Wi-fi was easy to access by following the instructions in the room. As others have mentioned the owner is very business like at first, but once you get to know her she opens up. You may not notice this on day one or two but by the end of our stay we were giving hugs. Hint: She loves golf and her grandson!

Great place for a couple to stay. Ate scrumptuous breakfasts and had wonderful fun conversations with other couples from around the country. 2 blocks from the bustling downtown restaurants and shops.

Excellent accommodation with fantastic three course breakfasts. Central to Banff and surrounding areas. We were made most welcome by our hosts even arriving at 11.30 at night. Would thoroughly reccomend this B&B.
