We chose this lodge for a decent price, indoor pool, hottub and gym. We're currently on our 2nd day of 4 nights/5 days at the Rundlestone Lodge. Our 1st night in room 328 (3rd floor standard room) was nice with a mountain view. It was also along the hallway with a view overlooking the pool but not a room on the pool wall side (which would be awful as we could see into those peoples rooms). We were happy until our heat stopped working at 4am (I know this because it woke me up cutting in and out while making whistling/squealing noises) but when it stopped I fell back asleep as it was warm. When we woke up freezing at 7am I realized that the noises were the furnace or room fans breaking. It's -35 outside. We told the front desk at 7am that we had no heat. The lady at the front desk said she'd send maintenance up right away while we went for breakfast, this didn't happen. We came back an hour later to a freezing room. I went downstairs to ask again. Then we went out for 5 hours to come back to a cold room with the thermostat changed and a new sign above it saying fan not working. I went to the desk again to ask for a new room. They said they'd bring space heaters up and could possibly find a new room in...We chose this lodge for a decent price, indoor pool, hottub and gym. They said they'd bring space heaters up and could possibly find a new room in an hour. So we went out again then returned at 7pm to no space heaters. So my 5th time at the front desk 12hrs later with no heat, we were given a room on the 2nd floor which is warm. The front desk said this is an ongoing issue and the hotel needs updating. The lady never apologized or offered anything for the inconvenience just said that the manger will be in tomorrow. The restaurant isn't open either. For the price at the time of booking which seemed like a deal saving $20-$40 a night 2 weeks prior to arrival when rooms at all hotels were cheap, if knew what I know now I would have booked somewhere else instead of having to look at other hotels the day of stuck in Banff desperate for somewhere warm to stay when everything went up $100 a night, I would have booked next door or somewhere else. If you do say here make sure to ask if the rooms warm or check it first.More
