Clean, new and convenient

4.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed Jun 16, 2024via mobile
Stayed in a Superior Suite with Mountain View’s at the end of May into June.
I had pre researched so knew that construction was ongoing. There is evidence of things being unfinished but this did not detract from our stay. Construction noise was minimal, in fact I heard nothing from our room.
Check in was fast, friendly and efficient. Lots of bits of paper pushed our way from local maps to bus timetables to coffee order forms (more on that later). Bit of an info overload considering the jet lag was definitely setting in but all useful.
Initial impressions of the place were good with an impressive lobby and coffee/snack shop attached.
All room blocks accessible internally via linkways and lifts. Our room was relatively high and in block B meaning a couple of lifts and a linkway involved to get to the lobby. Perfect when the snow is around.
Car park is good accommodating our GMC loan truck just fine.
Room was clean, very spacious and tidy. Adequate bathroom with nice walk in shower, plenty of towels and two after shower robes. Supplied hair/body wash was very nice (lemon grass). A small kitchenette with sink, fridge, microwave. (No cutlery supplied but there were mugs).
Plenty of plug sockets in the room. One each side of the bed. Niggle 1 - no side table on one side so we had to use a foot stool which was perfect. The plug socket on the side with a table had usb (x2) built in.
Comfortable very large bed with med/firm mattress. True to the description, you could sit in bed and view the mountains.
Large balcony with two outdoor chairs. Being top floor ours was relatively private but we could look down onto all the other balconies so they are not super private but great for chilling out on.
Niggle 2- Air Con/Heating. As other reviews have mentioned, it’s pretty loud due to being a direct stand alone item for the room. The unit looks to be able to offer much more than either Off or On whereas the controller will not offer it ie lower fan rate, oscillating air dispersion etc. I believe if you could reduce the fan speed, it wouldn’t be quite so intrusive. I managed to sleep through it ok but also had earplugs for snoring purposes so it didn’t really bother us but I can see how it might others.
Niggle 3 - Coffee. They are promoting reduced waste and so providing coffee in small glass pots along with small glass pots of milk and cream, all available from reception. The idea being you select per day on the pre order form, which coffee (or tea) you’d like and housekeeping would leave it for you. Nice idea but not very slick. Sometimes we had tea instead of coffee, decaf instead of full fat coffee or on one occasion nothing at all. Wooden stirring sticks and /or paper filters not supplied on one of the days. All rectifiable with a call to receptionist but just a niggle that it couldn’t be consistent. Overall it’s a faff brewing coffee grinds into a non heated pot meaning the coffee won’t stay hot long when milk is added. Nice idea as I said but I’m not convinced. Luckily there are plenty of other places to buy a coffee. Niggle 4 - The side table/Drawers. Convenient side set of drawers that you can place keys, coins, wallets, passports etc on all of which can easily fall down the back due to a nice gap between unit and wall. Wouldn’t be an issue normally but the unit is bolted to the wall and cannot be moved. A wooden strip definitely needs installing here to prevent this. Being right at the start of town has the advantage of quick access post day visiting and not fighting through town but does mean a long walk from the hotel. Complimentary bus tickets are given for the duration of the stay and once you get used to the timetable, can be very useful. Between the hotel and main town centre are a few places to stop for food and drink so it’s worth a walk just to scope this out (Chillies is highly recommended for food and drinks and isn’t spicy as the name may suggest). Overall, a great place. We enjoyed it immensely and as construction/snagging rectification continues, it will become even better. Recommended and I’d definitely stay there again.

Do not hesitate to book this wonderful hotel .The room had all we were looking for as a base to travel in our hire car around Banff and Jasper National park .The beds were so comfortable we certainly slept well .We enjoyed Shopping at the local supermarket for simple things to eat in our room the microwave and coffee and tea facilities ideal for us. We loved the balcony and made hot soup and sat out and breathed in the fresh air so very relaxing and romantic The cafe across the road was handy for a quick take away breakfast as there was far too much for us to see and do in surrounding area in the 3 days we hadallocated to stay . We certainly plan to return again

Room tip: Parking free and very safe . Staff helpfull Daily supply of coffee tea and milk were much enjoyed . Supermarket restaurants and take away pizzas and McDonald's

Lovely views from the balcony, clean room and the choice of tea and coffee to take up to your room was a great touch. Perfect location at the top of the main road only 20 mins walk to the main shops. This meant it was quiet but not too far from everything

We stayed here two nights while passing through. It was a great stay. The whole place has been completely redone. The rooms were large, clean and comfortable. The balcony was a plus. The best part was the bathroom, it was 5 stars all the way. Whoever did all the renovations did an amazing job, excellent craftsmanship. Loved the huge map on the wall. Parking was easy but the hotel wasn't busy yet. It's a few blocks from the main downtown area but there is a bus. Friendly service. We would definitely stay again.

From arrival to departure found all staff were polite and friendly. Located as you enter Banff town and just a 10 minute walk to the centre.
We stayed on 9th floor Mountain View room, yes could see the fuel station opposite but the mountains absolutely stole the show. Loved the room design and layout with a wall length map of the mountains topography, sofa and hanging wardrobe space. Wide verandah where we were lucky enough to see the northern lights. Shower was great, well designed and spacious.
The contemporary designed restaurant/bar area is a good spot for casual dining or a very good standard. Tried several cocktails and would definitely recommend and we will definitely visit again. The pool area isn’t open as yet, but is a work in progress.

Room tip: Ask for higher floor at the front of the building.

Brand new hotel. Yes, all the amenities are not ready. When they will be like the hot pools it will be even better.

The lobby is very modern and beautiful. The staff is very friendly and professional. Very helpful.

The rooms are incredible. Lots of amenities. Tastefully decorated. Very good design and furniture are all made of real wood and are of very good quality. The mountain views were great

I love this place and will come back even though it will be more pricey next time.

Since it's a new hotel, I would like to offer constructive criticism to make the rooms better.

1. I could not find a switch for the fan in the bathroom.
2. The bathroom needs a pull out mirror to see better when putting on makeup.
3. I was in room 694 and water was leaking on the balcony from a level up.
4. A small table on the balcony would be great.
5. A bottle of water would also be great.
