The room I stayed in is better described as an apartment. I estimate it was about 700sf including about a 150sf kitchen, with everything but a stove. The bed was really comfy with a down comforter to boot. Everything very clean and a 3 block walk to downtown Banff. Separate entry so no need to bother Anne unless you need her for something.

We were pleasantly surprised by the good sized space in a great location at a reasonable price. The private entrance suited us well since we went on early morning hikes and did not want to wake anyone. We stayed in the Honeymoon suite which has a separate bedroom, bath, kitchen and family room area with a TV. The kitchen included a microwave, toaster, sink, table, chairs, and a mini fridge with a freezer compartment cold enough to freeze ice, but with a fridge compartment not too cold (the milk was fine with No ice crystals).

Although the outside was cool for most of our stay, our suite was well heated. The shower had nice hot water.

The location was perfect. When coming into Banff from the Norquay exit, the majority of traffic can be avoided by taking the road by the railroad tracks (Railway Ave). It was an easy walk from Big Horn B&B to the grocery store and to the main thoroughfare (Banff Ave) so we didn't drive much in Banff itself, which is great since it's typically easier to get around on foot with all the crowds.

We looked forward to seeing what great breakfast items Anne would leave for us each day. The blueberry muffins were our favorites, but we also loved the other muffins, croissants, bread, etc. along with assorted jams, juice, and milk. Thanks to Anne, I even discovered a new cereal I loved and have since purchased online and in local stores (Nature's Path Organic Flax Plus Pumpkin Granola Cereal).

I enjoyed conversations with the friendly owners and wish we had more time to talk, but we spent most of our time hiking and not much time at our home for the week.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and look forward to our next visit!

We were two couples staying in Banff for 3 nights before setting off on the Rocky Mountaineer. The locations was ideal - just a 3 minute walk to the station and also easy walking distance to the shops and restaurants in Banff. The rooms were spacious, clean and comfortable and with enough hanging and drawer space. The kitchenette and breakfast were exactly as advertised - continental breakfast laid out the previous night and enough of it. Anne was very welcoming on arrival and helpful whenever we saw her after that. Price was about right compared to other places we had looked at or stayed in, and certainly better value that the hotels. It met our needs perfectly. Note that Anne only takes bookings 6 months ahead. I booked a hotel with free cancellation up to 24 hours in advance just as contingency then cancelled when the Big Horn booking was confirmed. Accommodation in Banff seems to be in quite high demand

Room Tip: Only 2 apartments - one has additional sitting room but both spacious and comfortable

Why stay in an overpriced hotel in Banff when you could have four rooms in a house close to Banff avenue. The rooms were large, clean and comfortable with our own entrance. Three cereals, croissants and giant muffins were provided for breakfast plus milk, orange, jam and marmalade etc. For us this was much better than a hotel.

We enjoyed our time at Big Horn B&B and stayed in both of the units, as we had a trip to Jasper for a couple of days in between. The rooms are spacious, clean, private and extremely good value and we felt that the breakfast provided was quite adequate. The location for exploring Banff was excellent and Anne was very helpful prior to our visit and most welcoming upon our arrival. We would recommend this accommodation to others.
