This place is nice. The staff is amazing. You can tell they all love their job. It is at the end of Banff Ave so maybe a little far for older people (we are 60 and it was good for us) and younger ones didn't notice.
The rooms are small if you are doing more than two people. We had several single rooms and also the two bedroom suite.
Nice overall place.

Stayed one night as part of Rockies tour, standard room clean, on the smallish side, a little dark and not very pleasant, ok for one night, suggest upgrading or different hotel. On site restaurant Chilli's more sports bar really but evening meal reasonable, buffet breakfast included which was very good. Free underground parking and free WiFi.

Great stay we had the loft suite, great amenities, rooms are super clean and has everything you will need. Close walking distance to all the shops, night life and dinner. The Grotto is an amazing touch to the place. Would come here again.

Stayed here on business for a couple of nights recently. Lobby décor is nice and front desk staff were warm & welcoming. Just fine so far.

Room was quite large and had all the amenities one could want, but furniture is beyond a distressed look. Night stands, coffee table, etc...all dented & scratched - time to replace. Bathroom is tiny with sloped walls so very claustrophobic, but worst of all is the lightening is terrible. The bathroom has one tiny wall light by the mirror and one overhead in the shower/bath. It was so dark on the one side that it was actually difficult to shave!

The insulation is very poor so the guest noise from outside is just too much plus these rooms are all accessed from outside so no security whatsoever. Anyone can gain access to the outside corridors at any time.

So all in all, staff were just fine, hotel is showing wear & tear in rooms and common areas and in need of an upgrade which would include insulation. This hotel is not cheap and simply not worth the price. Won't be staying here again.

I've stayed at The Fox many times over the years and on a recent trip I reminded myself why I like it. The hotel has a cozy feel to it - everyone who works there (and guests alike) are friendly and smiling.

The location is good, the hot tub is decent and better than a lot in Banff and the room was clean and quiet for the most part. There were some loud guests but they quieted down when the "quiet time" started. Personally, I think 11 PM is too late for quiet time to start, considering how early lots of guests want to get up to hit the hill.

Breakfast is ok - fills your stomach but there isn't much selection beyond breads, pastries, cereal, fruit and yogurt. Again, it does the trick but we skipped breakfast on the second day and grabbed a bite elsewhere.

I will definitely return and look forward to many more years at The Fox.
