My wife and I dropped in to Seoul Country Korean Restaurant after finding the wait at another place to be too long. We like many Asian cuisines, but have not had Korean before. Let's see what happens...
We were greeted by the staff and had a short wait for a table. They were friendly, but several did not speak English well and we speak no Korean. So, lots of gestures. We were seated and the host was able to determine this was our first Korean meal. Big eyes and worry filled his face. He retreated and brought the other host. She was very friendly and explained to us very patiently what the dishes were and how to properly eat them. Griddle pans are in the center of the table and you cook your protein and vegetables right there. Sides are brought out as well as lettuce leafs to make wraps. Once we were all set on what to do we were off to preparing our meal.
We ordered a Bar-B-Q equivalent with beef and had a spicy squid salad to start. Both were amazing. The flavors were strong and blended well. Both were spicy. We really enjoyed our dinner. Not only was the food delicious, but the staff was friendly and helpful.
I am no expert on Korean cuisine, but this was good. The staff was great as well. I recommend you give them a try if in the mood for Asian style cooking.
