If you're in Calgary, this is one place that should definitely be on the list. While the tower has now been dwarfed by many taller buildings around, it still gives some amazing views, especially in the east where you can look all the way to the horizon and west where you can get a great sight of the amazing Rockies.
We went on a weekday, which is probably the best time since there wasn't any rush. The base ticket is just around $18, with even less for seniors. If you look online you'll find deals that can get you around 20% discount as well. The guided tour (with headphones) is $4 extra but we didn't take it and I suppose it's not that necessary as well if you have the patience to read everything.
On the top, besides the 360° view, you also have glass floors placed at certain places in which you can stand (if you don't get scared). The views are amazing. They also have 10-15 minutes free shows at regular intervals that take you to the journey of the tower's history which is definitely a watch to understand the tower's importance for Calgary.
One level below the top, there is a restaurant in case someone wants to dine with a great view of Calgary downtown. We didn't go there though. The tower exits to a souvenir shop which is good to checkout.
The staff, in all places, was great and helpful.
Overall, this place should definitely be on your list.

If you want to know the history of Calgary and the tower itself, this is the place that you want to visit. I came here one time and enjoyed the view and Listen to the audio that explained about all the building in downtown. I prefer to come here during weekdays because it's more quite :)

Going to the tower should be for the sake of it, so you can check it off the list.View is ok, bit too pricey for an elevator ride, Not much to offer

If you can’t go up any building in Calgary (they are all taller) - then go here for the view - you will see that every other building is taller!

The idea is great, but the enactment is rather dull. I mean, almost every city has, or had, a revolving restaurant. When the Husky Tower was the tallest, newest building, it was exciting. But now that the tower is overshadowed by taller, more modern buildings, the Calgary Tower just doesn't ... tower. It's still fun for kids to go up and walk around and look out the windows. It's ok (although pricey) to dine in the revolving restaurant. Although anyone who pays that much to dine at the top should not have to also pay for the elevator ride up - seriously.
