“Good hotel but bad internet connection”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 19 May 2012

I stayed here last week and the suite was great. The staff were super friendly and accommodating and even brought us an extra chair for our meeting. It's in a great location. The bed is very comfortable.

My only complaint was that I paid for wi-fi and needed a decent internet connection for our meeting. However, the internet was the slowest I've experienced at any hotel over the last year, bar none. Even connecting directly into the LAN didn't help. The internet also cut out on a number of occassions.

Also, I'm glad I brought a projector. The TV is flat screen but you can't connect your computer via HDMI because there's some sort of extra device controlling the TV. Not a big deal though.

Room Tip: The suites are a nice size.

I think they've done some renovating. Our suite was very comfortable, with a nice living area as well. it was very bright and cheerful. Parking was included, but be careful on checkout, as they were going to charge us for parking. i had booked on hotels, so I had the paperwork ready to contest. You couldn't ask for a more central spot in downtown Calgary. You are close to Princess Island Park, and Eau Claire market. Also, shopping is right there, and in winter the +15's make it a no jacket required walk to shopping! This is much nicer than the Other suite hotel close by.

Room Tip: High floors have less street noise.

I was pleasantly surprised with this hotel. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The rooms were very spacious and included a "living area" with sink, dining table, microwave, fridge, sofa and TV. The bed, although huge was very comfortable. We didn't get an amazing view out of the window and the balcony was a bit grubby, but all in all it was very good. The hotel is located in downtown Calgary within easy walking distance of Calgary Tower, shops, restaurants and Glenbow Museum. A taxi fare from the airport cost us $35.

Well, we were 10 friends who had set out to Calgary for the weekend. We decided to do 5 of us to a room, depending on size and prices and so on. We called international, they gave us two suites with remarkable views (28th and 29th floors), two bedrooms, a living area, dinning area, 2 televisions,a killer balcony, parking included for about $220 per night - which I thought was fair for the room size and parking all in one.

The check-in was good, went pretty smoothly, and the girl helping us out was helpful everytime we had a question.

Parking was crucial especially since we didn't drive anywhere (downtown parking in Calgary is $25 per day) - so its downtown location was just remarkable. So close to everything, always able to hail a taxi, enjoy the restaurants, and shop (at The Bay - wow) without walking longer than 15 minutes.

We stayed here for 3 nights prior to travelling on to the Rockies. Check in was ok, nothing special but quick and easy. Suite was fine for us, bit dark and dismal but more than large enough for what we required though the windows really do need a clean outside!!. The bathroom was small but functional and the bed......without doubt the most comfortable I have ever slept in. We had a netbook with us and having read previous comments about the wi fi brought a lead with us and hardwired it which gave a constant and steady connection....and free!! We had room service once, the young man who brought the food up looked like he would rather be any place than at work, a quick grunt and he was gone. This is obviously a hotel that caters mainly for business travellers, service and everything about the place is efficient but not particularly welcoming. We were on a once in a lifetime trip to Canada and whilst the hotel served its purpose, it didn't really live up to the fantastic Canadian welcome that we have recieved everywhere else so far on this trip.

Stayed a few times while on business in Calgary. Rooms are very spacious and comfortable. Staff is good, but nothing memorable. Excellent location downtown...walking distance to restaurants, shopping and office towers.

Room Tip: All rooms are pretty much the same. Never had problems with traffic noise or anything else.

Stayed here for the Calgary Comic Expo without even knowing they had a special deal going on for con goers. So I arrive around noon and got a free gift bag, and have to wait for my room to be cleared. I was nearly swamped with staff trying to help me out as they got my room settled ASAP.

The actual suite was enormous for a humble solo traveller, with dining table, a small couch, two TVs, a safe in the closet, microwave, sink, and minifridge. Complimentary hardwire internet was another huge plus.

The gift bag had vouchers for free breakfast, which was a wonderful buffet with great pastries. The lounge was quiet and relaxing, and the food was fantastic.

Special shout out to Captain America, Captain K, and the tiniest Hulk I've ever seen for their great service, as well as to Anastasia the sales rep for her superheroic help.
