My wife and I were in Calgary for a day before heading up to Banff. We were walking down Stephen Avenue Mall and stopped in Divino for a bite as a random choice. Our decision was made by the door handles on their front door. We have the same on our kitchen cabinets.
I ordered the Spaghettini with clams, sausage and a rich tomato based sauce and parmesan shavings on top. Delightful! It was full of rich flavor and the sweet clams were perfect paired with the spicy sausage and parmesan.
We also ordered a trio of cheeses plate since she was not very hungry. It was served with in house made bread and a fig jam for the dry cheese. Everything was very good. The truffled Italian cheese was phenomenal.
Our drink selections were wine for her and beer for me. The wine selections by the glass were very good and had a good variety. Beer selections were also numerous with micro and macro brews represented.
The atmosphere was warm and inviting. We were there at 2PM, so it was fairly sedate inside. There was only one other table active while we were there.
Based on our experience I recommend giving Divino Wine & Cheese Bistro a try. The menu looks good and beverage selections are as well.
