Around Vancouver we have a bunch of these types of restaurants which are often brewpubs as well. They all have many different beers, wines and / or ciders, and often a unique menu.
The Sawmill doesn't disappoint. Although it's not a brewpub, there is a strong drink selection and the food is really good! We came back two nights in a row because we liked it so much.
Their pizza was our favourite dish. We tried the Flambé and the Black and Bleu. Both were awesome! I also tried the blackened chicken which was pretty good, but not a stand out like the pizza.
If anyone wants a really good value for their money, try the charcuterie platter which is a massive plate of meat, cheese, bread and other cold appetizer foods (cured meats or picked / preserved). Only problem is you can't eat a lot of it because it's so rich so you will need about 4 people to work on it. And beware, I am a skeptical eater ("oh please, how big can it be??") and even I was like... Wow this is... A good chunk of food.
Overall, the owners did a fantastic job of making the vision of this restaurant a reality and I'll definitely come back next time I'm out this way!
