The dogs had a great time swimming and staying cool. The beach is rocky and the water is clean. One needs hardy feet or footwear to enjoy a swim. Porta potties, and picnic tables are avaliable. There is take a bag/leave a bag for the dogs. Great way to spend an afternoon!

Dog-friendly lakeshore access, picnic tables, clean. No toilets that I could see but we didn't go very far from the entrance.

Great place for a hike & a swim in the lake with your dogs.
Not eveyone has their dogs on leash, and dog walkers frequent the area as well.
The path down by the lake is treed so its a nice cool walk. Its easy walking down, the walk back up is slightly steep & can leave you out of breath if you are not active.
Nice shallow areas to go for a swim or float around. This is a must see for those with dogs.

Seeing as this is the only dog beach in Kelowna we have no other option, we would prefer something a bit closer. The dog loves it because she loves to swim and fetch the ball. The beach is pretty long, so there is room for lots of people with their dogs. The water is ok, I wouldn't swim in it but it's fine for dogs, the beach is a gravely sand. Beware of the long grass at the very end when you first drive into the lot, our dog went in there just before we left and rolled in some sort of dead animal and stunk the whole way home and we had to give her a bath.

The location is ideal - right on the water so plenty of space for the k9 companion to cool off. Very spacious area so it's easy to find a private spot if that's what you're after. Several areas with tables and seating, and nice cool rocks so the furry ones don't roast their feet getting in to the water. I don't know that I would personally go for a swim there, though I can't imagine it is any worse than being in the kiddy pool at Parkinson or YMCA. The best part about this spot is that it is directly across the street from Cedar Creek and St Hubertus so you can grab a nice glass of vino if you're not driving, or grab a bottle or two to enjoy once you get back home. Several nice trails, and a lovely open area for playing fetch, keeping an eye on the kids and the dog(s) at the same time, etc.

*Note: Watch out if you go here in the early morning as I have been twice when there have been coyotes stalking my dog and I - make sure you are making lots of noise if you go early, or bring some pepper spray.
