Many thanks and kudos to Bill Jack for helping to make our Cousins' Reunion a big success. A bunch of first cousins met, from all over Canada and the US, at La Casa Cottage Resort for a family reunion in mid-September. We shared so many enjoyable experiences together and Bill's Wine Tour was one of the highlights. He picked up 20 of us, promptly, at the resort, educated us about wine-making and the Okanagan Lake and Valley on our way down the highway and showed us 4 very different wineries - the "Hidden Gems", he called them. We enjoyed snacks along the way, to soak up our wine, and then sang our way home. We all loved it - Thanks Bill!

I was a guest of friends, visiting Kelowna for the first time and was quite disappointed with this tour experience. I'll try not to make this too long but there is a lot of ground to cover. You should also read the other bad reviews as they are quite accurate in terms of the experience we had this past weekend. Bill will likely reply to this with a response that we received a tour on one of the busiest weekends of the year during the OK Wine Festival, but during our time in Kelowna and visiting other wineries on our own, we never had an issue finding a table at wineries' restaurants, and did not feel that there was much of a strain on wineries' ability to service the crowds.

If those haven't convinced you to look elsewhere, here are some other noteworthy points:
- the guide, who was not Bill, the person that arranged the tour, was 45 minutes late to pick up our group, in a bus completely different from the one Bill described.
- The bus was very outdated, windows were covered so you couldn't actually see outside, with two make-shift "air conditioners" in the form of desk fans fastened to the roof at the front of the bus.
- There was no plan, and it became clear that the driver did not arrange for any tours. He took us around downtown Kelowna which is not what we wanted, to a distillery, Sandhill and a "brewery" which was simply a bar, all within walking distance of each other.
- The driver told us that we did not have lunch reservations because it was too busy, so he would take us to a "deli" to have a picnic. The deli was actually a grocery store, and 3 out of the 4 people in our group weren't able to get anything. The other group used this as an opportunity to pickup some groceries for their night, might as well kill two birds with one stone, right?
- When asked about a specific winery we were interested in, the driver initially said no because you need a reservation to see that winery - at this point it appeared the only places we had been going to were not ones with reservations and there was an overall feeling of disorganization.
PICNIC LUNCH: the driver took us, with our grocery bags, to a winery, past the restaurant and into a small tented/sectioned off area with two couch seating areas. Almost as if it was about to be setup for an event. We were supposed to all squish into two seating areas to "eat lunch". It was quite embarrassing to walk through as a group with grocery bags of food and then not even have a seat.
- during our whole lunch situation, wine was not provided so after starting off with shots of vodka at 10am (a bit too early in our opinions), we had a two hour lull of disorganized travelling without any wine or beverages on our wine tour.
- The other group was also not impressed and the whole time the driver was spewing erroneous and outright lies about the town and its inhabitants (nothing about the wine industry), there was an overall tense vibe between the guests and a lot of nervous looks exchanged.
- once we realized things were not working out, our friend tried to contact Bill and was met with a slew of excuses. The driver must have been contacted by Bill because he then made a bit more of an effort to turn the day around but at that point it was already too far gone and we were figuring out what winery to stay at and take a taxi home.

Fast forward to communications regarding our experience, we offered to pay the out of pocket costs for our tour as a goodwill gesture because he did not have our correct credit card information and could not charge us. Bill quickly turned the discussions into a fight, threatening to "sue" and file a claim in small claims court for the amount.

Perhaps tours with Bill, in the vehicle that he promised would have yielded a different result. However, if you offer a service, all guests need to receive that service. It cannot be offered 50% of the time, so you can rely on those reviews and experiences to claim that what you offer is as advertised. As a business owner, I would never outsource my services without ensuring a consistent quality across the board.

Kelowna and its wineries are wonderful and I'm sure a proper tour would have made for an excellent experience. While we did receive friendly treatment at all tastings, it was despite the unprofessional nature of this tour company. I urge you to look elsewhere for a guide through the Kelowna wineries.

Sorry for your thoughts. Unfortunately during the wine festival we scheduled a lunch arrangement at your desired locations, there was a mistake the winery double booked. Doe to the double booking ,they put us off schedule our driver had to fine a back up. We attempted at that time to make other arrangement that would fit your selection request. Our driver did attempt to make things right. Unfortunately there are in see able things are subject to change with out notices do to the over crowding. We did here many off the women on your tour did enjoy the tour and had a very good time our driver did his best.

We called them personally all was well.

Sharon Chartrand

We had a blast on our day with Bill our guide. He really knows his stuff and is a kind gentle soul. We were guaranteed 4 wineries for the day and ended up going to 5 and no extra charge. His choices on wineries were very good, each was unique. From the small to the big ones, it was a really fun experience and we learned alot about wines and grape vines. Bill also suggested some very good wines to buy, so we took his word and bought a few. His choices were excellent, wish we had bought more as we got a discount on buying at a couple of the wineries because we were with him. Excellent service. Thanks Bill !!
