Lots for the kids to do and plenty of vigilant safety staff always on hand so you don't have to worry too much. But what let it down was how chilly it was, both in the water and the air. As a dad constantly trying to keep tabs on four kids I kept warm by attempting to follow them, but as soon as I stayed still it was mighty fridgey. I understand it's hard to get the water temp right to suit everyone, toddlers to lane junkies, but on the day we went, at least, the balance was in favour of the serious swimmers and not the little paddlers (or their dads). And for such an impressive facility the changing rooms are appalling - drab, grubby and functional, when the rest of the place is light, modern and stylish. Looks like the planners ran out of money and just built the most basic amenity possible. Doesn't make a good first or last impression.
