Allow for an hour or two - great for walking and looking at scenery would recommend having a camera. Can watch the boating activity plus the sea planes taking off and landing.

Is adjacent to the Port area stores and resturaunts

This park is suitable for our whole family, the kids always look forward to playing here!!
The walk to and from is great, it's the perfect place to take your kiddies if you want to get in a easy walk, a little play & relax with the amazing harbour views:)

This is a playground area in Maffeo Sutton Park which is situated along the waterfront. The large pool, a popular place to swim, connects to the ocean at high tide and has a small, sandy beach. The walkway around the lagoon connects to the harbour walkway, a very long fishing dock and the dock for the Newcastle Island ferry. This is a place that adults and kids will both find enjoyable.

Swy-a-Lana is actually the lagoon in Maffeo Sutton Park on the waterfront walkway in Nanaimo. The lagoon is a safe and clean place for children to swim. The waterfall to the ocean offers some interesting man-made tidal pool viewing where explorers can find crabs, bullheads and other interesting sea critters. Please be kind to nature and leave the sea critters in the sea. On off-seasons when the lagoon is near empty folks can also safely practice kayaking and paddleboarding.

The park is located right in the city and on the georgia strait. It is a very large park with excellent walkways and lots of parking. Crab fishing is allowed on the pier.
