“Food poisoning”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 16 October 2011

Staff was horrible! Ordered a pound of mussels, which wasn't even close to a pound. Ate two bad mussels, when told that the mussels were bad they offered us 15% off our bill, ended up puking all of date night. Horrible do not go!

“Surprisingly good + gluten free options”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 25 August 2011

I was initially dismayed when my husband chose this restaurant as waterfront places with great locations don't usually have the best food. However, I was plesantly surprised. I went with the carrot-coconut-curry soup to start and it was so delicious. I wish I had ordered the bowl instead of the cup. I then had the grilled Cesar -- your basic generic Cesar, but the grilling of the romaine was a nice touch. For my husband, there was a great gluten free menu, complete with sandwhiches on gluten free bread, which we both appreciated. The location is nice, you can watch the float planes land and take off and enjoy the water views.

“Great location”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 July 2011

We accidentally went into the pub which put us off but once we found our way down to the bistro it was excellent. We chose to have cocktails and a meal consisting of a selection of appetizers all of which were all of which were nicely prepared and presented. Sitting on a summer evening watching the marina and the seaplanes just completed a great experience.

“Disappointing”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 21 May 2011

We were in Nanaimo for the day and heard about a floating fish & chip place on the water. It turned out they were closed because of the weather (it was raining) so we decided to try the Lighthouse bar as it was nearby. We had the 2 piece Hallibut and chips as well as the peel and eat prawns. The prawns were ok, nothing special but the Hallibut and chips were worse than a fish & chip chain restaurant! Considering that it was $20 for the 2 piece, this was very dissapointing!!! The fries tasted like they had been cooked in rancid oil! The service was very slow, and the place wasn't very busy.

We definitely do not recommend this place!
