Our plan was to take the little ferry to the pub out on Protection Island but when we saw the cost of that, we rethought our plan and defaulted to this little Mexican restaurant right on Nanaimo's beautiful waterfront. It was well after lunchtime and it wasn't very busy but we stood neglected for several minutes, "waiting to be seated" as instructed. However, after that, everything was perfect. My margarita was splendid, perfectly made, and I enjoyed every salty sweet sip. I ordered the fish tacos and loved them, and my husband enjoyed his pork ones as well, although he thought they'd have a bit more kick. They went nicely with his Corona, however. Our server( I didn't catch her name) was attentive and natural (not effusively, falsely friendly to get better tips). The weather was gorgeous, the sky clear, and the view from our waterside table unbeatable. A great lunchtime experience!
