Few days ago I went with friends to the “Tamarind Hill” in uptown New Westminster. Although I have been living in that area for quite a while, I have never visited that restaurant.
When we went it was a bit busy: Despite some tables were free we had to wait some time until we got seated.
The interior is rustic but pretty dark. Despite it was not full and there were many servers, it took quite a while until we were able to catch the attention of a server to place the order. We ordered Roti Canai (since we were 3 people we had to order 2+1 pieces whereas the additional piece cost as much as a single piece order), Sambal Beef with Asparagus, Nyonya Chicken Kung Pow and Okra, Eggplant & Green Bean Trio in Sambal Chilli along with Coconut Rice. Unfortunately, they didn’t offer Kuih Dadar – my favourite dessert and standard to compare the quality of restaurants.
We all agreed that the food was not so great, in some cases even disappointing. And the prices were not low…
This restaurant didn’t impress us at all.
