The history of travel up and down the Okanagan by water which was the main form of transportation for both freight and passengers in the early settlement days of the Okanagan valley was most interesting, The restoration of the ship itself was quite the story and the artifacts on display were great. An additional extremely interesting and enjoyable to watch was the model of the KVR railway from Hope to
Midway, as well many presentations on its history. Great view from the wheel house of the ship.

This is a MUST if you are in the area visiting. It was one a few minutes late but that didn't matter. It is all amazing, so well kept, great information. You can just feel the history here. And the model train is also very neat!

TIP: if you are looking to get married in the area or host any event, this would be a show stopper!

I am not a museum goer or seeker but my parents were in town so we decided to give it a go. I have lived in Penticton for five years so I figured it was time. There was plenty of interesting historical information and I overheard a patron say that it has been improved and much better than their previous visit. A number of staterooms are articulately set up from cooks to captains to royalty. I was suitably impressed.

This has some amazing history to it and is definitely worth seeing. You can easily spend an hour or more looking at everything. This paddle wheeler is "HUGE".

Well worth a visit, pretend you are boarding for a sail up the lake. Take in the cargo area, pretend there are crates of fowl and even a motor car. Then go upstairs to the lounge, ladies or gents and also visit the grand salon or step out to see the view! Don not miss the model railway which may be put in action.
