“Not fine dining and not worth a visit”
Reviewed 28 December 2011

When paying these kinds of prices and dining in a formal setting, one is to expect a certain level of food quality and service.

Our middle aged server was about as knowledgable as a Boston Pizza teenaged rookie. Almost zero knowledge of wine list (is you can call it a list - as there were very few choices)

My duck confit was not very good. My creme brûlée was undercooked and soupy. When I told the server that my creme brûlée was runny, she said that that is the way the chef does it... enough said.

There were 6 of us and 4 out of 6 didn't love our meal. It was all in all an overpriced experience.

I give this a poor ranking because it falls way short of advertised and of expectations.

“Affordable gourmet dining in a beautifully restored heritage house.”
Reviewed 12 December 2011

A comfortable and unpretentious dining room, first class food, and friendly and competent service have made for a totally enjoyable experience every time we've come here. The menu changes seasonally, and there is always something for everyone on it. The food is to die for: fresh, organic, intricately spiced, expertly prepared, every mouthful an adventure, and the portions are generous even for a big guy like me. We eat out a lot, but of all the restaurants we've been to, Bogners is our favourite. Thank you Darren!

“The local misconception”
Reviewed 30 November 2011

Having dined across the Okanagan and experienced nearly every restaurant in Penticton especially. Bogners is the only restaurant to go for true dining quality. The local theory of its "overpriced and to much for most locals," gives it a bad rep, however the prices being slightly more then your local Earl's with quality far surpassing makes it well worth it. They are present with many of the local wineries, catering during there event's and often steal the show. Chef Darren after service often shows his dedication by mingling with his dinners sharing recipes and telling of the local farms they recieve most of there products from. If your from the Okanagan take pride in the this all local gem, and if traveling through don't miss out.

“A memorable dining experience - definitely hit the "do it again" list!”
Reviewed 28 November 2011

From the moment we walked thru the door into the old and elegant surroundings, our evening became an experience of comfort and fun. We were 2 couples celebrating our wedding anniversaries and the restaurant choice could not have been better. The food was excellent, a nice wine list, the service was great and the ambience was just what we had hoped for. The perfect ending to our evening was having Chef Darin check in on us for what turned out to be a lengthy visit that even included some recipe sharing!! Thanks Darin & Staff for a lovely anniversary celebration .... we'll be back!

“Disappointed”
Reviewed 25 November 2011

First time to this restaraunt and we were hoping for an awesome experience. It was a miserable night out and as a result we were the only couple there. Two things that we very difficult to overlook were 1) mold on the lemon garnish on my wifes water glass 2) bread was still very cold on the inside (must have been frozen). The food was average to above average but pricey as well. Will not go back as there are too many awesome restaraunts in the area with much better food value.
